One of the twelve Art Academy Pikachu cards, and the one I personally want the most. 
I currently have six out of the twelve AA Pikachus, but from the remaining six I’m missing, four have yet to emerge from the winners themselves (only some extra copies have popped up for the two English ones thus far); one winner (Space Pikachu) sold 4 or 5 and stopped after that because she got ill and is superstitious; and one (Business Pikachu) is on eBay and YJ for 4k USD on average… 
Unfortunately, the Pikachu Emotions one has yet to pop up even once.

I was thinking about these too. There is a play Espeon up on ebay for about $19k last I checked.
I think of holy grail cards as cards that I would most want to add to my collection right now, so those are Crystal Lugia and some gold stars (Metagross, Gyarados, Alakazam). I’d love to be able to collect them in PSA 9 ideally, since I can’t justify the markup from a 9 to 10 but having mint copies of them in a binder would be just as nice! Maybe other’s can relate to this as well but for my PC, a 9 is just as good as a 10 given how small the differences can be.
Seeing everyone’s answers in this thread makes me appreciate the depth of the hobby, there’s just so many different holy grails in here. It’s really quite remarkable how people can have such different tastes but be in the same hobby

Mine would be a PSA 10 1st Ed Base Charizard I hope to acquire one day, but for now my chase is a PSA 9 version and my owned grail is a PSA 8 version.

Holy grails to me(and many others) are nearly unobtainable cards that will take a lot of time/effort/$$$$ to obtain
Personally my favorite card in the hobby is crystal lugia, and I still don’t own one yet but I wouldn’t consider it a holy grail
My holy grails would be, Umbreon/Espeon Play Gold Stars, Spacechu, a Full Art #2 Pikachu, the really cool AA Pikachu(3rd one) that @quuador posted, and a full art Masked Royal
Maybe one day I will realize the gains on my set cards and trade those gains in for my holy grails… I should make that day sooner than later

Two of my long term collecting goals are getting one of every Bulbasaur and Mew cards. So my two holy grail cards would be the Pokemon Snap Bulbasaur and the Art Academy Mew Promo.

Oddly it’s far from being my most valuable card. But my holy grail is my psa 10 grand party. Just absolutely love that card!
A future goal of mine would be to own a 1st edition shadowless Charizard. Even around psa 4-6 range i’d be so happy haha maybe one day!

I see the appeal for trophy cards and Japanese promos but personally I’m not a fan (exception might be vending promos. Masaki cards and their history of attaining them is really cool). I really enjoy what I grew up with and that is WOTC English. My holy grail card is and always will be PSA 10 1st edition Neo Genesis Lugia. Gen 2 was my favorite and that rookie card has always been on my list of wants as a kid but never had. Card now with the price rises is now unattainable for me which makes me glad I got into the hobby a while back when it didn’t break my bank. If I got into the hobby today I would still go for it in a 9 which is just as good because of how hard it is to grade the card.

The only real grail I have is the Art Academy Mew. Not only is it more than I could logically afford with my current job, but they never fucking go up for sale

My second grail followed by this one would be something pretty much impossible nowadays, which is a Snorlax 1st Ed Jungle Holo PSA10.**

Most coveted card of my life was Neo Genesis Lugia. I Acquired a perfect one a handful of years back. In terms of current goal cards, can’t say I have any in particular, but maybe a PSA 10 1st edition shadowless blastoise? I love turtles, and that art is the best of the three if you ask me. That’ll be a long time coming though, I can settle for what I have now, a NM Shadowless ungraded one will suffice.
