Hmm that’s definitely changed since a few years ago.
1st edition base set charizard in a high grade if money was no issue.
Realistically in this market, a fire red leaf green charizard ex (cgc because it gives it a huge discount).

I just want an overall collection I can look back at and say “fuck yeah”
There are so many cards I want to be in that collection, but not 1 in particular is a defining card for me.

I’ve had several over the years. Sometimes you don’t even know until the opportunity arises.
I recently acquired the trophy kangaskhan, but before that is was a shadowless psa 9 chansey and before that is was 1st Ed base set zard and before that it was the shadowless zard and at some point the neo Lugia 1st Ed. Just keep evolving as you go.

To this day I think it’s still one of the best cards ever printed in the TCG, even if it’s not playable at all. So iconic and nostalgic.

for me its a toss up between my psa 7 shadowless zard and my psa 8 4th print zard but I think i’m leaning towards my 4th print zard due to its rarity. I guess if I had to lose one it would be the shadowless. I was even toying with the idea of selling both to upgrade my 4th print zard to a psa 9! but for now at least I am happy owning both

My one true holy grail. I always set aside a little from each paycheck hoping that someday I’ll have enough when one shows up, though at this rate I’m not sure I ever will. They pop up so rarely and it seems like each one that does costs more than the last, so the goalpost is probably running away faster than I can catch.
