There is a rare card that has been on my list for a while but I never really prioritized because it costed too much and I didnāt have much disposable income. Itāll be a while before Iām able to purchase it but Iād like to start saving for it so hopefully in the next year and half I can purchase it.
The sad reality of adulthood is that Iām finding itās much more useful to save for retirement than it is to buy pokemon cards immediately though I wish it was the other way hahah

I completed my major goals this year, so as far as amount spent, Iām pulling back.
2026 is going to be a varied year, as I plan on focusing on lower end cards Iāve been wanting, getting back into my retro video games, and snagging some more Bionicle.
Same as almost every year, I hope to find some of my long-lasting wanted items:
Pikachu: I am very happy Iāve finally added the German Surf-Pikachu to my collection after ten years (just the third copy Iāve seen), but hopefully I can eventually say the same thing about the German Flug-Pikachu and Spanish Pikachu Surfista and Pikachu Volador.
Seviper non-TCG: Iām still missing three out of five Metal Collection Figures and three out of fifteen Kraks colors for Seviper, so Iād love to add at least one, and hopefully all three each, in the near future. Iād also like to add the final Battle-e card featuring Seviper (19-M010) to finish all of those.
Moltres: Iām still not sure whether it actually exists, but Iād love to add the Moltres WotC promo with Danish insert to my collection (I do know the Ancient Mew exists with Danish insert, but I have yet to see any of the legendary birds). Iām also still looking for some foreign graded variants in 9+ (GRAAD for Italian; Platin for German; and CGA or ARK for corrected illustrator English).
Yu-Gi-Oh rarities: Although Iāve got a card from a second region incoming rn, Iād like to have all six Korean-exclusive ASTK regions. Would also love to finally find a German SOI Ultra Rare card with the belt/chains misprint.
But unlike the one above, my more realistic goal is just to catch up and keep up with all new releases. Right now, Iām roughly 80 items behind across all my sub-collections, since Iām still recovering from the German Surf-Pikachu and Simplified Chinese SR Pikachu purchases (and two reserved items Iāll pay for in December), so Iād love to catch up again in the first few months of 2026, and then just keeping up for the remainder of the year. Especially since itās the 30th anniversary, so who knows what kind of releases weāll see that may or may not have consequences for my collection goals:
English (and non-English exclusive) FA Supporter cards. Iām three sets behind rn, and there are also still a bunch of non-English exclusive artworks to add (one Japanese and one S. Chinese, out of the top of my head).
Seviper: Iām just one set behind for these, multiplied by the thirteen active languages. But Iām not too worried about catching up with these tbh, since they should be both cheap and not too tough to find (if my middlemen can find them as singles).
I always see the check-ins at the end of the year for these threads every year, and Iām always disappointed in myself for not commenting when I scroll through to try and find my comment - not making the same mistake this year!
(More like 1.5) failing the above, grade āmodernā cards (eg. XY FA, Tag Teams) which are now worth stupid money and sell/trade to finish said goals.
Continue to find time in my life to attend pre-release tournaments for every set, itās honestly my favourite part of the hobby and really hoping I can succeed with this one.
Start to set my daughter up for success in life in all ways possible, including her getting her hands on the Junior division No. 1 Trainer card circa 2034. (I jokeā¦ or do Iā¦)
Focus on building my BW-P and XY-P Binder collection. More specifically BW-P. I have 85 cards remaining to finish the numbered BW-P promo set and the goal is to to get it finished by 2027. So for 2026, I will try to get the 85 number lower.
I really want to write articles for E4. I was ambitious last time but my driving force was the Badge and not just about writing good articles. This time I will focus on writing just 3 (hopefully well researched) articles, focusing around Japanese promos.
Participate in every E4 side event. I love the people here and participating in the yearly events is certainly a highlight in my hobby journey. So I would like to keep doing so to the best of my capacity.
Get to know more people and make more friends within the hobby, E4 and also otherwise.

But really, its been a rough year and next year will have me spending very very little on Pokemon comparatively. So my expectations for completing the goals will be minimal.
1: Upgrade at least one of the 20 unsealed decks to sealed.
2: Participate more on e4 a different way than QotD.
3: Prioritise my personal wellness more and potentially attend more physical events somehow.
4: Collect 1M+ cards of assorted bulk
5: Extended goals of 1 of each year of world championship deck for a reasonable price
6: Organize a pokedex binder
Goals that dont depend on me:
1: Find the last theme deck box sealed that i need for my collection.
2: Purchase the 3 impossible to find Kalos starter collections as an extended goal. They havent been seen in about 4years.
We shall see what happensā¦ or if anyone has any leads on them, Iād love help
Find the last 15 cards I need for my CZ masterset. The GG side is done
Find the last 5 cards (Wailord, Tirtouga, Clauncher, Alomomola and ???) for the water page in my binder.
Find Evo skies Noivern and other city scape/dark cards for my page with mega batman Absol.
Find other random singles that have been on wish list for reasonable prices (Evo. Skies Reg Leafeon, swasbuck, Deerling, joltick, pyroar, rapidash, persian etc etc etc)
Slowly work on my base-gym mastersetsā¦so very slowly.
Find Aquapolis Arcanine for a reasonable price.
Find Delta series Ninetales for a reasonable price.
Find Absol cards again for a reasonable price
Pick up more Ace, Marco, Shanks, Law one piece cards as I find them.
Get Lady to give me her need list for her SF masterset so I can keep my eye out and help her finish that.
All goals are dependent on price and deals trades when possible not paying scalper prices and waiting for lows in market.
