I’m a little frustrated that I’m not finished SM or SWSH yet but I didn’t realize how much progress I made with my unrealistic goals. I’m overall very, VERY happy.

Each box is 40-42 slabs so 24 boxes is 960-1008

I had to stop there because it’s getting impractical and pily. Value wise it’s hard to assess because i mainly collect by full set artist so a lot of the cards are niche (in the general sense, not necesseraly by e4 standards), and pricecharting often doesn’t have comps or i even have to add my card manually.

Off on Christmas vacay tomorrow, so there will be officially no more purchases coming in for the rest of the year.

My Gen 1/2 dex binder is 92% done, a few expensive cards left on the list, but also a bunch of not so expensive cards I could pick up in January (Meowth, Grimer, Croconaw). I just kinda stopped when prices started climbing, but looking forward to finishing it in 2026.

Never made that collection thread! I have bought other Pokemon cards outisde of this binder goal, as well as a few postcards, and many Digimon cards (which are sooooo much cheaper).

I didn’t get to any of those European countries lol, but I did do a lot more exploring of England, and I do have trips already booked for Germany (Feb) and Italy (May), so that will be done in 2026 as well.

I have a few very modest goals for 2026. Get my artist binders caught up.

KomiyaI I need a bunch of easy to acquire cards from most of SV . The big Komiya goal is also to finally own one of their art prints from their personal shows. Been entering the lottery every time I can. No luck yet

Finish the Oswaldo Kato, S. Chinese Pika set. Just need the final card Gathering Pika.Then hopefully they stay away from illustrating any more of these exclusives :smirking_face:

For modern I’d like to finish the SV art rare set. I started collecting the art rates as a fun way to stay connected to modern Pokemon, now that I play less. With the crazy market spike that has become less enjoyable. I’ve hung in there through most of SV but kinda stalled on Black and White (150 Illustration/Art rares) It would be nice to finish what I started

2025 was very different than i thought and planned it would be. Regarding my goals the year started in an unbelievable way when i obtained both of my main wants, the other being ready for battle topps card that was the last missing topps card i needed, and the other was my ultimate goal cosmos foil fossil muk that i’m sure a lot of people have seen multiple times as i like to post it everywhere it’s possible. I did buy the card in the first days of the year but i didn’t get it in hand and post here until summer.

However after the big additions the year was just a steep downhill. First came the whole playtest fiasco that took my ultimate feeling of owning something unique from the early days of pokemon. And after that my whole world crushed with some massive family issues that took a big toll on both my mental and physical health, so all my plans for the year basically dropped out. My main goal for the year was to continue the nursery rhymes book i had been working on but after the first months and small progress it had to be paused again, it makes me sad that it’s in the state it is but it just wasn’t possible. The one good thing about the year was that in the middle of everything i did start going to gym again and i will do everything possible to be able to continue that. I did buy an occasional card and item here and there to have something nice but it took until the end of the year until i bought more cards and made some progress with my binders. However, life is shaky and things took again some bad turns and i’m now basically just trying to get through everything with minimal damage but i’ve mostly paused buying cards again for some time. I do hope i can continue the hobby life relatively soon as it gives me a lot of much needed joy but i at least have a good bunch of cards to post and threads to update meanwhile. It isn’t far’fetched to say it was the worst year of my life but at least there still were some good things in it, kids and their sicknesses were a nuisance but naturally also the biggest source of joy and unforgettable moments, and it didn’t hurt to get some nice cards.
