They will reholder the cards and keep the current grade. I just sent 3 cards to have the very thing done. It is $7 per card.
Do you know if they will update the white label at the top to the new one? Or give it a new item #
They update the label but keep the cert #.
What’s the risk with this though? For example if you have a rare/expensive Psa 10 card is it worth sending it in for recasing as there is potential for damage to happen during the recasing process? Or is there such a minimal chance of this happening it’s negligible anyway.

My last batch of PSA returns came back with (3) cards being Pinched between the plastic borders. I assume the card shifted slightly upwards when being sealed or the person sealing it wasn’t too careful? or something. When I was able to release the card there was a dented line where it had been pinched. That was the first time I’ve ever seen that happen with my returns. Luckily they weren’t expensive/rare cards. So I guess that’s a risk in general when getting it graded.
