Hello e4, I already made my first intro post somewhere else showing part of my collection (Tropical Collection (Hello e4)). I didn’t see this thread earlier.
My story is similar to many, I was 6 in 1999 and grew up with Pokemon. As far as Pokemon goes, I collect mostly things related to competitive play, but in general, I’ll take anything that’s old and has Pokemon on it. I don’t have any interest in anything modern (goes for all areas of collecting, not just Pokemon). This is mostly just because I yearn for the era where where ideas and products were organic and unoptimized. These days, it does feel like everything is analyzed/optimized to death and financially motivated right out the gate. Whether it was collecting cards on the playground, or a small group of people in a garage or dingy office creating something that changes the world, there are just some things that we can never have again. That is why I collect things that remind me of and pay homage to those days. The further away we get from that, the more important I think it is to preserve these relics.
