After 11 years, 17 seasons, 550 episodes, and nearly 2000 Pawn Stars segments our Pokémon segment just jumped over the former #2 and is now the second most viewed segment in History Channel’s YouTube history with over 10 million views.
Think Pokémon is a passing fancy. I think not;)
@garyis2000 as the episode is so popular, has there ever been an opportunity to go back? It would be pretty funny to bring the same cards and let Chumlee explain to Rick how much he would have made haha
My favorite Pawn Stars clip because of the nostalgia! Is there a thread where you detail your experience? I felt as if they never intended to buy in the first place and your cards were highly undervalued. And since you live in vegas, I wondered if you actually knew the person who appraised your collection.
I have always been a big fan of Pawn Stars but I don’t agree with some of the specialist that they bring onto the show who act like they know more than the owner of the item. I’m sure sometimes they do know more but also, very clearly sometimes they do not.
In the case of this episode, it’s just funny that they bring in that local shop owner to be the voice of authority when you literally have the Pokemon King presenting you with cards that the “expert” has never seen in person. Would Gary’s opinion be biased…maybe…so I get the need for a third party, but it’s still unsuitable. Moreover, because the expert’s price often egregiously undervalues the item, it sometimes comes off a little scammy. I know they are a business and that they have to make money, but starting a negotiation off with a undervalued item is unfair. Maybe Pawn Stars can hire smpratte next time.
*If the “expert” is part of efour, I don’t mean him any disrespect.
