Does anyone know if you receive the extra pikachu packs if you pre-order from their Japanese online store?
Waifu memes aside, I actually do really like almost every single card in the whole set and that’s something that has almost never happened with moderns (SM+) for me. I might even go for a full set
I’m surprised the Charizard isn’t in this thread yet. I’m not much of a Charizard fan, but this is a pretty solid artwork:
I also like it has the trainer next to it, and there are two more cards like that in the set:
I also like that these days almost every set contains at least one card of Tomokazu Komiya, Yuka Morii, and Asako Ito, since they all three have such unique and classic styles (primitivism art style for Tomokazu; clay models for Yuka; and crochets for Asako). I’m not much of a fan in general of any of the three, but I like that they are unique in their own way, and all three of them are certainly talented.
Greetz,
Quuador
I’m so pumped for the Zard. Definitely one of my chase cards for the set.
I love the zard artwork and scenery, but then… Leon… I just don’t like his design I guess

I’m personally pumped to see Leon in the back, more power to you if you don’t like his design though its all preference in the end.
Holo Foil looks like Fumes, so Majestic
Hm it appears some of the full art V cards aren’t made by 5ban, is pokemon slowly moving away from them?

It appears that they looks to be doing this (moving this away from 5ban’s domination on hyper rares) but it may just be wishful thinking.
@mcmimi, ah, so that’s why they look so much better
Aside from the Amazing Rares and theme deck chummyzord… as a lover of satisfying & clean images, Miki Kudo’s Loudred really butters my bread:
Not a Kudo fan as such, the only other similarly satisfying card of their’s is the Crimson Invasion Kakuna:
Getting that Pokemon Feng Shui on point!
Also LMAO what the hell is this??:

That’s a good thing though, right? The less censorship the better? It’s not like there’s anything graphic about these cards and thematically they make sense. Nessa is a water gym leader so she has basically the same outfit as misty did years ago
and Bea is a fighting gym leader who’s essentially wearing workout/training clothes with pads
Dunno, I don’t have that much background knowledge to see the context for their choice of clothing. So for me they are essentially just lightly dressed pre-teens. For people that are uninvolved with Pokemon in general, it might look even worse. Personally I’d be uncomfortable with displaying them, at least more so than I would be with the old banned artworks.
But that’s probably really just me and I might care too much about what other people think in that instance.Even if they aren’t for me, I certainly won’t judge you for your collection goals. Diverse interests sustain our hobby
For the specific cards that were showed though, after a bit of googling, Bea is 18, nessa is 21, and Olivia is 25 XD so not exactly depicting pre-teens in “light dress”. Can’t find Plumeria’s age but based on how she’s drawn I’d think she’s around that age too.

@stephneechan, it’s sometimes hard for me to tell an anime girl’s age. So thanks for clearing this up, that’s good to hear. Maybe if I knew anything about post-Gen 2 Pokemon lore and characters I could appreciate those full art trainers more.
