So I’ve been watching some toyhunters on Youtube go over Tokyo chasing vintage Kaiju toys and I was inmediately hooked for the designs, metalic vibrant colors and history of Kaijus mostly from Godzilla, Ultraman and similar shows. As I am not a fan of toys or figures, I wanted to know if there are some experts here that could teach me about the Vintage Kaiju’s cards, or post cards I saw because I had 0 luck with google and I would absolutely LOVE to start chasing some pieces of Japan history. I’m curious too. I saw a few years ago that some of the modern Pacific Rim toys were actually worth money which it turns out Kaiju collecting is a thing.

Use Google Chrome for auto translate and search Google using the Japanese terms your are interested in. I’ve found a lot of awesome blog pages and other sites by searching in Japanese. Also go through images as well!

@shizzlemetimbers, thanks, thats a good start, words I found were “manko” and “mat” but maybe I will have to google in japanese too for better results

I put “Godzilla card” into google translate which gave ゴジラカード and then put that into Yahoo Auctions and Mercari and it brings up a bunch of different types of cards. If you translate those sales posts, i’m sure they’ll lead to more good search terms to use as well. A lot of them look really nice, good luck with the search
