Went to a card shop and saw a Japanese Venusaur. Everything looks fine except the lower half of the Holo is just black no holo. Is that a good error or a fake?

Just a wild guess, but do you by any chance mean the Gameboy Promo Venusaur? If so, it’s completely normal that only the upper half of the artwork is holo.

If you’re talking about the GB promo venusaur, then that’s how it’s supposed to look like, only the top half part is holo

Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture but I’m positive it was a base Japanese Venusaur. It looks like the promo picture but the bottom half is just a very dark gray.
The Japanese base set Venusaur looks like the English one. If what you saw had the GB artwork, that’s most likely what it was.

You figure it out? It is a possibility that it could have been fake, but if it was at a card shop it’s unlikely.

I’m not abusing anything, just looked over your posts and you seem to be completely new to Pokemon or trolling. Didn’t say you were a troll for a fact just seems that way. Go back to the shop and take a picture and the great members here will tell you exactly what the card is.
Sorry if you misunderstood me I didn’t imply you were abusing anything. But being new to Pokemon and trolling the forum are two different things.
I’m not new to Pokemon but I do have a lot questions…the more you know about your cards the more you enjoy this hobby.
I’ve been at it for a while and for me, the more I know I only find that there’s a lot more I need to know
