So yesterday I watched a ungraded base unlimited charizard sell for $340 on eBay auction … it was labeled near mint to mint condition. What is going on here!!! Why would someone pay that much for the ungraded card? Are they hoping for a gem 10? I just don’t understand. What are your thoughts?

Sellers seem to be earning alot from ungraded cards on eBay this January.
Does anyone know if these are all completed deals or are there dark forces at work pushing prices up?
Well psa 10 are worth 2 grand so if the picture showed a perfect card maybe the buyer took a risk. IMO its pretty stupid to do that unless there are tons of pictures that are really high def and that show a truly mint card.
**although it might be more likely that it is just an uninformed buyer that doesn’t understand how difficult it is to get a PSA 10 grade. I.e. The card looks nice but its off center or something like that.

The price wouldn’t be surprising for a Gem looking copy though… It’s a gamble, but you’re looking at $250+ these days on PSA 9 and $2k for a PSA 10.
In this case it’s most likely a 7… 8 if lucky and the scratches are on the sleeve/top loader and not on the holo.

One listing doesn’t set a value and if there were only two bidders bidding including a zero rated then for sure it means little.
