Undervalued Thread

I think the Poké Card Creator set is severely undervalued.

My reasoning:

  • The population ceiling is 5,250 for each card. The true estimate is lower due to attrition, but the exact number is unknown (i.e., some copies have been lost in the mail, accidentally destroyed or thrown out, etc.).

  • Have you seen the adorable artwork for Pikachu, Mudkip, and Torchic?! (Sorry Wurmple and Treecko)

  • Mint and Gem Mint copies are not always easy to find. Applicants were aged 5-15 in 2004. I never took great care of my cards back then, so I can’t assume many of the grand prize or first prize winners did either. There are plenty of examples of pack-fresh sets coming back from PSA < 9, which may suggest issues with quality control in the print run. For example, I’ve noticed centering to be a huge problem in addition to minor corner damage that would typically reduce the chances of a Gem Mint 10 grade.
