Seeing as though Charizard, Eeveelutions and Pikachu have the most massive followings in pokemon I was curious to see everyones top 3 artworks of those pokemon.
My top three favorite Charizards:
Charizard 151 (one of the most beautiful zard artworks ever released imo)
Honorable Mention: The surging sparks pikachu really has grown on me even though I was bashing it recently. I can see why so many people like it. The holo shines different in person.
I cant choose because I really just like them all tbh. I will have to say though, and not many people realized yet. (You mightve already) the twilight masquerade eevee has 8 eeveelutions, and there are exactly 8 eevee pictured. The coolest part though is that you can see each one exhibits some sort of hint as to which eeveelution it might evolve into. The sleeping one being umbreon, the one by the water, vaporeon, etc. I LOVE how the artist designed that card. (If you want my full interpretation of the card I can give it to you! Lol)
A lot of people dont know this yet and it makes the card so much cooler. I believe they made them in accordance to their evolving skies arts counter parts. If you notice the evolving skies have the same poses and since evolving skies didnt have a rare eevee in the set they created this card to match its eeveelutions poses.
Eevee top left jumping down is equivalent to the sylveon v jumping down in the kitchen.
Eeevee center on the leg of the couch is umbreon v with the same pose.
Eevee laying belly up on the couch is the vaporeon v or leafeon v belly up pose.
Eevee on the floor with one paw up on the book looks like the leafeon vmax pose.
Eevee winking by the flowers has the same pose as the glaceon V
Eevee bottom right sleeping is the Espeon vmax from fusion strike I think
I may have mixed up some of these so I apologize but its as close as I can get ! Thank you for pointing that out I forgot to mention it
And the Pikachus. I don’t collect Pika though so I’m sure there might be artworks I don’t know/remember that I like more (other than Ooyama’s, I have a 9 of that guy on a stand in my desk).
My favorite Pikachu is Yuka Morii’s from POP Series 2. I have fond memory of pulling the card myself from a POP Series pack I picked up online when I got back into Pokemon a couple of years ago. I have it at the front of my Yuka Morii binder.
My favorite Charizard is from Crystal Guardians. I had the card in reverse holo as a kid. I remember flipping through my binder every day to admire the cool holofoil on the card. Unfortunately, I either lost it during a move or a garage sale where I sold all my Pokemon games in middle school. My goal is to eventually pick up a PSA 10 of the card.
This one is more simple. My favorite Umbreon is from Neo Discovery because of the connected artwork with the Espeon and the Eevee. I’m a sucker for connected artwork in Pokemon cards.
