i saw that post and i was like lolwuuut those two have nothing to do with each other
although in that case i would rather take the no rarity holo since that is prolly not coming up again and is somehow down i guess??? (i did bid close to that number )
I will say a large portion of new buyers/collectors tend to disregard these ratios (and pop reports in general) and place a hefty premium on 10s regardless of logic. These buyers have been the primary driver for growth since 2020 so I guess I’m just conditioned to expect that at this point.
I agree with you, Skyridge and all of e series has been long overdue for a price increase. The pop reports are so insansely low compared to everything else. There really wasnt a grading population boom during 2020 either. Makes you wonder how much a surge in price would even cause the pop report to ballon for anything e series.
I saw a Reshiram & Charizard on ebay tonight and was shocked by the price, so I doubled checked on tcgplayer…
What in the world. I’ve had this and a few other GX Tag Team cards in a deck box since February/March 2024 waiting to be sorted and had no idea some of them were doing this
sounds like the hype is still going then haha. I only sold 1 of my stack, an unsealed near mint copy and it sold for £30 almost immediately. Few weeks ago now though, looks like they’ve came down a bit
This is genuinely one of the dumbest prices I’ve ever seen for a Lucario card. It was only about £80 to £100 a couple of months ago, then it got turbocharged by the XY reboot and Mega Brave. Even so, this is a pop 700 card. You can crack open pretty much any box set with this promo and it’ll grade a 10. It’s not remotely rare or desirable, and I think chancers have been going feral over XY full arts and are now scrambling to pump crappy promos.
A friend of mine on Instagram sent me this picture from a convention- they said the seller spent 1,500 Euros on this because it was going to be 3,000 soon. YIKES!
The card has a 40% gem rate, so it is not too easy to grade. The box is 500$. Just because it was available months ago (like so many other cards) for way cheaper, doesnt mean that its not worth a bump in price. But yes current price too high in my opinion, but i can see it settling down near 800-1000 post mega hype.
Perhaps, but a 40% gem rate, while not easy, still is not particularly difficult. The $500 box price does not really justify the card’s current value, especially considering the Mega Powers Collection includes multiple promos and packs like Ancient Origins, Breakthrough, Roaring Skies, and more. If that Lucario were the only real pull, I would be more inclined to agree. Your point about prices rising over time is fair though, but this spike feels way too fast and clearly artificial in my opinion.
