Just noticed that one of my PSA 10s has a giant binder indentā¦
Suffice to say that I no longer want it in my set. What should I do? Even though itās subtle, I feel like it would be unethical to sell it without disclosing the ding. And itās not valuable enough that itās going to be worth fighting with PSA over. So IDK what to do with this thing lol. Should I just crack it and sell it raw as a damaged card?
@chrisundrum, sure, but I just assumed that no oneās going to want to buy a PSA 10 with a dent in it for a price remotely close to the normal PSA 10 price. People who buy PSA 10s (assumedly) want gem mint cards. If I keep it in the slab and disclose the dent then I think no oneās going to buy it (unless I price it at like $20 or something).
I agree. Just disclose the damage and put in on ebay for a bit less than the usual going rate and youāll probably sell it faster than youād expect.
I didnāt know where to put this post, but has anyone else ordered card savers from PSA store and not received them?
I ordered some a month ago and havenāt received any word of them being shipped. I also messaged them and they didnāt respond. Is this part of their strategy to slow down the flood of incoming cards?
I mean, I clearly disclosed the damage in the description and photos. Itās a very low pop card, so the guy probably just needed the 10 for his set. Luckily I have a few 9.5 candidate Aggrons at CGC right now, so I should have a replacement in due time.
But yeah, a lot of people do really just buy the label lol. It does happen to still have amazing eye appeal, though. Aside from the ding, it was one of the cleanest 10s Iāve owned.
I ordered them and had the same problem as you - emailed with no response inquiring like a month in it seemed with no status or update. Then randomly got a priority flat rate box with them in it last week. So theyāll come one day.
Did you grade it? If you bought it then just send to PSA and get your $$ from their guarantee.
I donāt necessarily agree that itās āunethicalā to sell it without disclosing the ding. I know itās not the most popular opinion here, but I am a firm believer in that when a label and grade is cast, it is canon. PSA guarantees this for a reason.
I do not try to explain why I think a card got the grade it did in my listings because of this - PSA has effectively taken the subjectivity out of it.
Do you have other examples of binder wear like this causing PSA to grade these cards low? I have not seen it personally, so just curious. I can barely see what youāre getting at in the photos.
Yup! It pained me to sell it because I probably will never get to acquire another PSA 10. But Iām confident that I have at least one 9.5 at CGC right now, so Iām not too worried!
@serpintaxt - I didnāt grade it; I actually bought it from DACW several months ago. Only noticed the damage today .
why not? You know StockX sells PSA and BGS graded cards and you donāt even get to see a picture of what youāre buying? It is the epitome of ābuying and selling labelsā - I kind of like it as a seller lol
if this were sports cards, I would think differently as face value is way bigger of a deal there, especially w super vintage stuff.
Thanks a lot for your reply octaane! I appreciate it. Was thinking the same thing that its OC for sure - just hoping for the best that I can get a 10 on it somehow, because Iām super attached to it! Cheers ^^
I figured Iād follow up on this just so thereās another data point out there. It got an 8 with 8 corners and edges, and 9.5 centering and surface. Hereās the HQ scans from CGC
No idea where the CGC thread went but I finally have a few slabs in hand and wanted to say that I really like the case. I also like the label, hated it when I saw it on images but actually having it in hand they appear very different to me. Overall great quality, I dislike the fact that the label itself is loose, it moves around quite a bit.
