The Giant Professional Grading Thread

I put the chances of another price increase at 70%+. No good pokemon grading specials ever again

TBH without specials is a membership even worth it at this point. I’m set to renew in Feb but 95 days for a ā€œforcedā€ 20 card submission to get a discount……

Wanted to update! All three by eye were not super obvious, but looking through a jewelers loupe it was very obvious.

Couldn’t get a good photo, but basically you have the black core in the middle with the white lines on either end. It looked like slight blue deviating from the back of the card onto the white as you’d expect.

Just sucks that it wasn’t very obvious from eye level since it means a more time intensive than maybe even worth doing.

How can PSA realistically give this a grade for condition? If you have a near perfect card with just some scratching on the front or back, then could you have any artist just paint over it and PSA will grade it a 10?

I really don’t get PSA.. There was a time when they didn’t grade the majority of misprints; Art Academy cards; nor any foreign card (non-English and non-Japanese), but now they decided to grade painted over cards. Wth.

You can say whatever you want about CGC and BGS and such grading too much, but when it comes to what can and cannot be graded, PSA is inconsistent as F over the years..

The One Piece cards from the PSA Magazines have been worth the price of the membership for the last few years, hopefully they keep them going this year.

Based on 2025 marketshare, I think it’s fair to state that acquiring 3% market share (Collectors buying Beckett) doesn’t change anything. No need for these senators to push for FTC investigations. Spend time on things that actually matter and affect your daily life

This is beyond true. I had a friend of mine send over a card that we specifically painted over to see what would happen, and sure as hell, the card came back with a solid 8 and no questioning of the painted over area. Very intersting and VERY successful test

For all the social media TAG fans and blind defenders, I thought they would’ve graded way more cards than they actually did. Less than Beckett, especially for just doing TCG, is pretty surprising.

You see posts from 99% of people who grade with TAG and 1% of people who grade with PSA

78% of the market and senators could litterally care less, this is the FTC themselves that made it.

You sound like a tiktok ā€œpolitical advocateā€, and that’s not a good example to live up to @eeveeteam. Besides, I think that the venezulean situation is much more important, but it dosen’t mean that the FTC can’t operate anymore.

I dont even know what this is.

A bunch of people that say political opinions and ideologies without using proper literacy and common sense.

ok that was a bit too harsh…

I mean its pretty common sense that 72 + 3 is insignificant. There are other numbers out there like 50 + 30 that the FTC should prioritize. You will figure it out when you pay taxes someday. You dont want to see your tax dollars go to waste

Heres the right one

Ironically this isn’t even from this forum. The majority of the things I see on tiktok that are just absolutely incorrect lead me to just create my own opinions using common sense and intuition. It’s done pretty well (I’m not running for president anytime soon though lol)

I mean we were having a discussion on if it’s worth it for FTC to investigate the acquisition and you bring up Orange man bad. No need to bring poiitics into it, it’s against the rules anyways.
