What do we think, is that a dent?
To me it looks like it but there are others on here with a much better eye for this
Any word of an october special for PSA?
Got a decent size submission pending a discount on grading
I donât think weâll be seeing any PSA specials for the time being. They are still getting caught up from the summer.
That 100 percent looks like an indent/fold/whatever you want to call it.
I got my reslabbed cards back from CGC. I had to call their London office to get them to send them though.
They had been there for a week but I had paid the invoice and nothing had happened. So I called up, very helpful staff. Turns out if you pay by bank transfer that CGC in America donât always pass that on to the UK office. So thatâs a bit of a waste of time, better to log on and pay through the site.
Very speedy delivery to me though, quite pleased with how it all went. The only caveat for UK people is youâre paying something like ÂŁ35 to get your cards back unless you arrange your own collection. It was worth it for me this time as it was 24 cards including my first edition raichu but itâd make sending a couple of cards a bit too pricey.
The slabs are really clear, a good upgrade. And they sent me that sample one, I assume they just have loads of them in the old format leftover.
Does anyone have experience grading sealed packs?
Are they shipped the same way as sending cards for grading ? Ie sleeved then in a card saver 1?
Any info would be helpful
In my opinion the best way is getting some graded card sleeves. You put the pack on a card saver (not in it) and then slide it all into the graded card sleeve. The graded card sleeve will secure it against the card saver. As far as I know they donât have an âofficialâ way of doing it like they do with sending in raw cards.
Iâve had a quite bad experience with PSA pack grading that is currently ongoing, albeit not Pokemonâmy vintage Pokemon packs were fine, although I think undergraded as usual.
Iâm waiting for the resolution of my current debacle to see whether I share the story publicly or not, though.
There are rumors that PSA changed their grading criteria on packs. It used to be quite easy to get PSA 9s and 10s, but now most packs come back PSA 7s and PSA 8s.
Damn thats too bad. Im mostly wanting to grade to preserve/authenticate more valueble packs. Not necessarily going for a higher geade
I look forward to hearing the resolution of the story!
Oh, so just like wotc cards?
Yep if you ask some of the bigger pack graders like ZandG and Ketchumall theyâll tell you the grading changed completely and they have no idea how to get any grade now
I didnât grade many packs prior to the new holder, but was pretty shocked at how strict PSA was on my recent order. Every pack I sent in was directly from a booster box, and nothing went higher than a 8.
Psa tcg special, might be worth going value plus with the 5 dollars off over bulk which is taking a long time rn
Edit:just realised value plus is 40$ a card, quite expensive but maybe worth it for certain cards
Same, and they damaged 15 of my packs. PSA has really become a disappointment to me.
Got back a PSA submission back today and it seems they âclampedâ a card and also scratched the holo Very unfortunate as my submission before this, seemed every card in the submission had top right corner damage. Very frustrating when cards are returning from PSA in worse condition than sent out and clearly some type of mishandling of the cards being removed from the holders or the casing process. Hereâs a picture of the most recent Clamp and scratch on the holo:
10000% yes, When you put the slabs next to each other. You can see the BGS slabs is less vivid in color, the bgs slab almost looks like the card faded with sun exposer. We sub to many companes, these are all fresh slabs just received back from the companies.
Hi all, new to the forum and enjoying soaking up all the knowledge it has to offer!
Looking at a decent sized grading submission and iâve always gone with PSA prior, however iâm swaying more towards CGC this time around⌠My concern is itâs going to affect the future valuesâŚ
Iâm seeing ebay solds starting to creep more inline with PSA and BGS, but not consistently. Seeing some modern 10âs go very cheap!! Even pristines. Some bigger cards tend to be a bit more universal in cases however. There is also the consideration that the Pristines or Black labels are a tempting offering!
Also, as some of you have mentioned, Iâm hearing a lot of chatter about this top right corner damage from PSA in the encasing process which is scary!
Iâm also based in the UK, so the idea of a London office is exciting meaning I wonât have to wait as many months (in theory) for my return.
What do you guys think? Stick and take the risk with PSA quality control or CGC up and coming enough that it shouldnât matter too much in the near future!? My brain is fried trying to figure it all out haha! Seeing some of the big players like TCA make the move is comforting.
Thanks!
