The Giant Professional Grading Thread

I live in Sweden and for me they only insure up to 10 000 SEK (around 1000 USD). The only way to have it insured for more than that (atleast in my case) is through a company and not as a private person.

I send it as a recommended letter and pack using two boxes for added safety. I also try not to ship too many valuable cards in each order and space them out instead.

I had some modern japanese I wanted to get graded fairly quickly so I tried out CGC. Long story short, I got my submission back and my credit card was never charged. However, i was charged for my other order that just hit grading. Is this sort of billing latency normal?

Hey cgc experts, is the old cgc 10 pristine (3 10s one 9.5) converting to the new cgc 10 gold label?

Yes but you lose the subs, so you have to consider if showcasing the 3x 10s is worth keeping vs the new label. Personal choice

No, it’s not. You should always get charged once it hits grading/quality control unless you had credits on the account? (Like for being a premium/elite membership)

great, thanks! since i´m in the eu it´s not really worth it it to send a single card for reholder but i might include it if i ever send a whole sub

They billed me for the reslabbing once they were ready to ship. Congrats!

How does this exist?

Cert page shows it is in fact a perfect 10.

But it doesn’t seem accidental. The card is a perfect 10 with a cert from around January.

Only thing I can think of is the person submitted it with other cards for reholder and found out after it was in processing that they didn’t have perfects anymore. And maybe it was already cracked and the label was tossed when they contacted CGC.

If the cert is from January, I wonder if they were testing out the new label. Could just be that they didn’t work out all the new changes yet (e.g. no more perfects, new Pristine label)

Maybe, but I would assume that it was an accident like the following.

Well those are different because they are straight up missing information. This card has a label with everything technically accurate, it just shouldn’t exist to our knowledge.

My point is that CGC is occasionally making errors right now on their label. You should contact CGC if you want to know for sure.

Hey all,
I recently purchased a card that I realised is mislabelled from PSA. It’s a 1996 Corocoro jigglypuff, PSA labelled it as glossy, but after receiving it, it seems it is the more common non glossy version.

Would PSA honour some sort of financial guarantee or do I just have to take a loss on a future sale? It’s a big difference in price between the two versions.

Thanks

In my experience, no. I bought a mislabeled Yugioh card in 2020 and they did not honor. The difference was $650 between the one I thought I was getting and the more common version. I ended up getting a $100 voucher and they moved along some of my bulk orders (which ended up being worth every penny since they were ludkins orders) but they did not give me the difference. Even went through multiple channels including some higher ups that I was lucky enough to get connected to.

Ah man that really sucks! Thanks for sharing, I think this just might be an expensive lesson learnt for me.

I’ll contact PSA and see how that goes but I don’t have much hope haha

Just a heads up, i’ve had cards at Beckett since beginning of June and they’re not done yet. Easily the slowest out of the big three at this point :person_facepalming:
