The Giant Professional Grading Thread

Yes, I am referring to those too @meta. Just trust me and try PlastX. :+1:

Whatever material/process that makes the streaks also makes the circles. It will be cleared away easily with PlastX.

Dyl is 100% correct, they’ll go away with PlastX very easily, I have no clue what they are but it’s not mold.

Even if it doesn’t work it’s good to have a bottle of PlastX around if you collect graded cards

Thanks all. Will try PlastX and report back.

I don’t think it is a manufacturing or sealing problem. I can 100% replicate the streak pattern by using PSA perfect fit sleeves improperly. If you hold the face of the case and sleeve together when entering or removing the card, then the streak pattern will be left on the case. Always hold the edges of the card when entering or removing a case from graded card sleeves as it will prevent the issue.

Hi Guys, Im new to grading and about to submit my first couple of cards. I want to grade the following two cards too, what do you guys think. Should I grade them? I bought the two for around 40$. Thanks in advance! Jesse

I have a psa card with streaking on the inside surface. Kinda ugly but luckily it’s on the back.

beautiful cards. If your goal is to grade and sell, i would say no as they do not look like psa 10 candidates(centering). If those get a psa 9 or below youre looking at breaking even then taking a loss after fees, shipping, taxes etc.

If your goal is to encapsulate showcase in personal collection, then hell ya go for it

Thank you!

How harshly does psa grade those white dots in the left center?

Its a Dutch dragonite 1st edition fossil, besides also some tiny edgewear the card is pretty flawless.

Welcome to e4, @fredza!

The back of this card is mint-gem mint. I would recommend submitting it. If the front holo is without print lines or scratches, I could see this card getting a PSA 10 grade.

Great! I was hoping they wouldn’t be as harsh on wotc cards. Thanks for the advice.

What do we think of this? Besides the scratches the card is really clean. Could this still get a 9?

I’m not sure but man there is some serious nostalgia from seeing that card right now for some reason. Beautiful card

Hi, I have another question regarding grading to PSA.

I just purchased this card as NM, but I noticed it has this mark/dirt at the top right corner.

Is it still worth submitting? (Without the mark it’s a PSA 9 contender)

Maybe I should try cleaning it off or too risky?

Thanks in advance.

May be able to clean it up some. Lightly wipe it with a damp glasses cleaner rag.

I managed to clean most of it off. Thanks!

I use a qtip thats just a tiny bit damp to clean cards. Just make sure you dont rub too hard because it will eventually start rubbing ink off the card. Also avoid getting any moisture on the actual edge of the card which I find qtips to be better with that then say a cloth.

To add to this, and maybe it goes without saying, but make sure that you wipe outward with the qtip each time. Do not wipe back and forth or from outside the border of the card. Do not risk catching the edge of the card with the qtip and damaging it.

Have a microfiber cloth nearby and some clean filtered water. Dip the qtip and dab it in the microfiber before using the qtip on the card. As wooltchi said, you only want it to be a tiny bit damp

When i ship cards to PSA from Norway, Fedex and Posten Norge refuse to insure my package, so all risk on my shipping to PSA.

Does Fedex og USPS insure when shipping in US?
