For the people who follow the PSA backlog.
How big is the current backlog of PSA to grade form 2021 early 2022?
My current goal is to get the Umbreon alt PSA 10 sub 600€.
I think this will only be possible with more graded 10s. So, what do you think how long it will take for PSA to be back to their usual grading rhythm after the big hype?

They are pretty much back to normal. They said they intend on clearing the entire backlog towards the end of the year. I’d wager most of it at this point are middleman submissions. Most new orders are being entered within a week of being received, which hasn’t happened since pre pandemic.

This is great news! My 18 sub quickly moved into grading not long after being received and while that doesn’t mean it’s gonna move that fast through every step, it’s nice to see things happening so quick

Has anyone graded packs with PSA lately? I just got back mine today and all the cases have this kind of gunk inside. Rather disappointed with my first experience. I guess they won’t be going on display…

No worries its just the left over glue from when they resealed it after tsking the good cards out!

Jk but seriously some of mine have that and i never really cared much

I think its just bubbles in the plastic. I personally never care or notice unless its significantly affects the view of the card.

I hope they enjoy their trainer rares.

No, but seriously, I guess I’ll just have to stop being such a perfectionist, or maybe I’ll send them in for reholder down the line if it really keeps bothering me. I’ve graded a couple hundred cards with them over the years and it seems I’ve mostly gotten lucky. Sometimes the slabs have some of those little plastic square in them, but they don’t detract too much from the overall eye appeal since you really need to hold them in the correct lighting to be able to see them. I have never come across these bubbles though. Then again, I’ve never owned any of the new style booster slabs, only the old ones.

This will make all of the difference in your enjoyment of the hobby :joy:

Has anyone got a bulk sub back from Ludkins recently? Curious aprox where they are in the backlog of getting there subs back as I know middleman are basically last in line lol

There’s a more in-depth thread about it here

Interesting interview.
Nat Turner said that there will be probably a new level service in August-September, probably not 18$ but below 30$.

Assembly step is moving at a snail pace!

Apparently I’m the only one it happened to after they did an audit… Not sure I like that answer but I paid them out of my pocket instead of the people I middlemen for since that’s the right thing to do.

Someone on blowout just received their $18 special back already. So much for clearing the backlog first, it also skipped over a lot of $30 and $50 orders

My $18 orders are ahead of my $30 order lol

I’m sure there is an operational reason for this. Most likely that ops teams are allocated to specific grading tiers and turnaround estimates are based on allocated headcount rather than actual, practical speed that subs are processed.

That’s crazy…wow

That makes a lot of sense. Since the lower tiers obviously get more cards there are more people in those teams. As orders come in they just grab the next batch from that tier instead of there being a middle team that allocates which order an employee would work on. That way they just cut out that middle management kind of stuff. Right now there probably isn’t a huge backlog of 18$ so orders are somewhat flying through. Just speculation tho.
