that is true with the Neo 3 boxes, you arent guarantee the shiny in a complete box of 60 packs it was very hard to pull those 2 shiny. it was better off buying it singly than buying an entire box and try your luck to pull it.
I will say in the past 5-7 years a lot of the neo shiny, crystal cards, and gold stars have seen a big increase in demand like no tomorrow. I remember when Neo 4 shiny were barely peaking at 100 and 1st edition crystal cards were less than 100 expect the zard which was like 200 max. even now in japan the aftermarket shot up so much that its crazy gold star zards raw are sitting at 7k sometimes
Honestly I would leave them unpeeled if $ is a factor. They are extremely hard to grade. If it’s just for fun definitely peel it’s a very cool experience!
That would still be cool. It was only XY era onwards that I remember seeing set cases, although I have seen a case for Neo 1 promo folders and for individual Legend L1 boxes.
@cardstockpile i cant really say FMV…All the copies of shinings on yahoo jp that ive seen are high prices and not mint, so i would not be surprised if the price for these was very high. Whats the cost of those 6 in english as 1st ed 10s? I would say it rivals that price, and i would also pick them over the english 1st 10s for my own collection
I feel like Japanese shinings are still undervalued and will have their time one day. It would not surprise me to see them exceed the price of English 1st edition copies. I wish they all had used the full card sparkle like the Karp/Gyarados/Mew had!
They were long brown cardboard boxes with the Pokemon logo printed on the ends. I might still have one or two . I’ll check and if I do, I’ll take a photo and post it here.
I gathered up all my cards and kind of just stared for a second. I couldn’t have imagined I would have a collection like this as a kid. Going to try to spend more time appreciating what I have than chasing what is next. At least for now…
