日本のマーケット部分 The Giant Japanese Market Thread

AFAIK a mint Umbreon sold for $40k and a PSA 10 Espeon for $34k within the past two months. They have been pricy for awhile, Flareon as well, just not enough public sales that people would be aware of price rises. For example, I can sell an unopened Umbreon/Espeon buy list price for 1.8M/1.3M yen respectively in Japan, which is obviously low enough that the store can easily profit.

100%. I’ve had people buy from my marketplace items that waited until pwcc payday to pay. The money never touches their bank accounts and the cards likely never reach their hands either

Hey guys, I have a question concerning the grading method of a certain card - hope I’m right here :stuck_out_tongue: .

When looking for a Graded Dragonite From The Game Boy Color Promo, I came across 2 different set names for that particular card.

Beckett grading seems to have listed this particular card under two different set names in their database.

A set with the name of - “1996-02 Pokemon Japanese Promos #0 Dragonite (Game Boy insert)” totalling 8 cards.

A set with the name of - “1998 Pokemon Trading Card Game Game Boy Color Promo #NNO Dragonite HOLO P” totalling 12 cards.

When looking on ebay or other auction sites, you can find both versions from Beckett as seen here:

My question now: is there any difference between those two cards? They seem to be the same to me.

True, the prices are finally being realized. Flareon 10 has gone for $16k. Cards like these are hardly public sales.

Does anyone know if the Kanazawa box reprint has happened yet? If I wait too much longer to have eBay intervene, I will lose my buyer protection.

16k for Flareon? When was this? Was this a private sale?

@tenaciousm17, there have been a few private sales I know of close to that price in the last six months. Idk why people still lump Flareon with Jolteon and Vaporeon. Severe under-estimation of how many players stopped bothering to rack up points after 20,000. Go to Yahoo or Mercari and you can probably find a dozen each play Jolteon and Vaporeon, including plenty still sealed, but maybe one Flareon.

Correct it just sold a couple months ago and the one before that went for 13k. Full disclosure I own one and can attest to those offers

Exactly. There aren’t any flareons available that I know of on the JP sites, 30,000 points was considered to be the “expert tier” the pop reports give us great idea of rarity however even the jolteons are getting snapped up now if you can find a clean one or sealed one now they are becoming far and few between. Vaporeon are dwindling too but to a lesser extent as the lower the points the more available.

Another Mario/Luigi 2 box set sold today for $6k next lowest set is $7k then to the $9k range. I wonder the odds of getting a psa 10 on the cards within. The full arts seem to be going for 3-4K each and the non full art cards are going for 2k each. Hypothetically speaking if these values for the individual cards hold up and they grade well we could see these boxes continue to rise to the 5-6k level or 10-12k for the pair. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

That’s fair. I was still thinking of the offer bugcatcherdave made several moons ago for a Flareon in PSA 10. Good to know the value has surpassed that. I agree, I do see quite a few Vaporeons and Jolteons.

Yeah, glad to see these PLAY promos starting to take off. Makes me wonder how long till other cards in this set jump in value like the gold stars?

A lot of them have gone up quite a lot but I think the point cards give off more of an allure then the rest of set since you had to earn them. Started really seeing that with the mew ex in the set. It took off and hasn’t looked back

Pop report and personal experience shows they are very easy to grade 10.

if I had the stonks I’d buy $50k in mario boxes right now

Did people play and battle to get these points or was it through like a different means? and does anyone know how many points you would get if you won a game?

link with explanation/break down. Yes battling was a means of acquiring points as well
