Maaaybe. I love all the ex series though, and legend maker has beautiful reverses, really good holos like Kabutops, mew, Aerodactyl, and gengar. The secret rare is better than TRR. I considered a master set of legend maker, but never TRR, so there’s that. EX is better than wotc by a lot though

Why Expedition is still as unappreciated as it is is really beyond me.
It was the introduction set to the e-card era (well, at least on the English side).
It has so many fan favorite Pokemon as holos - even a Zard, although that might be on of the top 3 dorkiest Zards ever.
The Japanese pack art is pretty nice - where else do you get all Gen 1 & 2 starter evolutions in one place?
It has the highest amount of Masago artworks of any set, which on its own should make it a top tier set.
Really the only reason I could possibly think of is the fact that it lacks Crystal Pokemon.

has anyone witnessed a recent (2021) sale of a Japanese SM3h/Burning Shadows box?
The only eBay sales are from November and the boxes have since evaporated completely.
I think this box was the last time Pokemon had an actual “First print run” designation with a guaranteed Ultra Rare or better extra per box (red stamp on top of the box, small stamp on every pack’s back), so I’m very curious as to how this box, or any “first print run” box for that matter, would to right now - by itself and compared to the reprint versions.
This was also the time the 5$ Red’s Pikachus sold out literally every pack in Japan, so… that didn’t help 
I’ve been actively looking to buy them again for a year, but they’re just gone.

Was not aware of the PSA 9 base set price jump. Anybody know if this is a new thing? I guess I haven’t been paying attention

I think the overall development of Japanese prices has led up to this point for a few weeks now. It does make sense though. A JPN Base heavy booster is around 550-650 right now and with the massive centering issues you’re in no way guaranteed to get a 10 straight from the pack. However I think there is still much room to grow for both packs and PSA 9s/10s.

I was actively watching Japanese base a few months back and at some point PSA 9 Japanese became roughly equivalent to PSA 9 English and might be more now. Precovid Japanese base was always cheaper except maybe in 10.

So annoyed, had my kanazawa box preorder cancelled by a japan seller.
Seems to be increasingly difficult to find good deals at the moment too, I guess collecting is picking up in Japan too, that plus all the exposure this year with the anniversary…

What types of alerts should I be looking to try and set up for something like Japanese promo box drops? Twitter handles or tags, email list, E4 phone tree, etc. I’ve tried to avoid excess notifications in the past, but it would be nice to not pay resale of the resale prices for a piece of history.
