Whoah this is amazing! Who owns this?

Could also be a fake listing with nothing to be sold. Seller was just trying to get the card listing to be recorded as “sold”, to manipulate the market!

Have seen such listings many times. Which is why I as seller refuse to engage in price wars or even refuse to lower price when a buyer showed me the recent sold prices (which I found to be ridiculous).

If magikarp is my favorite pokemon, I’ll be crying! Thank god not!

I think, per my experience on Mercari JP, when you cancel the listing for whatever reason, the listing just gets deleted. You cannot find it as being a sold listing when you search for it again. Not sure if that counts as manipulation if the whole listing is deleted and does not register as sold.

Cheers!

You can delete sold listings on Mercari if that’s what you mean.

Both. What I am trying to understand is, if a sold listing is deleted and does not show up, it means that there is no reference to what it was sold for correct? Meaning, it should not contribute to market manipulation, if that is the intent.

Cheers!

Just for discussion and knowledge gathering… So I was expecting Buyee to ship my consolidated package soon since the status was “preparing to ship” since midweek.

I got a notification today that a card (which already was consolidated into said package) just arrived at the warehouse. I knew sth was wrong so I contacted them to ask what’s up.

Then I got a follow up email saying the package shipping was cancelled and refunded because the EMS shipping method is not suitable for the items ordered (30k yen of cards). Strange because I always use this option so idk what’s different. I probed further and was basically told they are opening up my consolidated package to check the details…so I assume they got some item statuses wrong.

Not sure if it’s ever happened to anyone else, but I’m just assuming they default to “shipping method is not suitable” as a reason regardless of the situation… Just hoping they don’t try to make me pay extra for shipping or whatever, I’m already paying 10k yen on handling and fees already haha…

Just curious on how were you able to request shipping for a card which had not arrived at their warehouse? Or do you mean that it was already listed as arrived but when they were actually packing your shipment, they realized that the card is still not in their warehouse. Unless you shipping instructions changed drastically in your first consolidation, it probably just means they messed up with your inventory. Not sure why they would not just state that?

Cheers!

Yea you guessed it, it was already marked as arrived, hence I only consolidated when all my cards came in and I didn’t change my shipping methods or instruction. But somehow the notification came again today that the exact same card from the exact same listing just arrived at the warehouse…once again?

Definitely something they messed up, and as you said really weird they wouldn’t just say that’s the case and instead attribute it to incompatible shipping methods of all things. I’m still waiting for their investigation results, am eager to know as well.

There are sellers who don’t want to sell to middle man companies. I have those type of cancellations happen pretty regularly and/or the seller just outright blocks bids from middlemen. That is the most likely scenario.

Well, plastic cases on plastic cases is a completely different thing than a plastic display case for some expanded collection. Dang that looks good!

As a seller on Mercari, you will receive this message when Buyee bought your item:

It basically explained that someone outside Japan bought your item with Buyee, and you are free to cancel if you don’t wish to make such transactions (which TBH I don’t think a lot of people will cancel because Buyee is way easier to deal with than some tough buyers lol )

Do you know why this is done? I don’t know the process of buying a cars via Buyee but based on your translation if I am the seller a message like this would make me a bit nervous. I think international or not, the seller still has to ship the item to a Japanese address (Buyee warehouse), so I feel the message gives kind of a negative vibe. Unless, of course this is standard policy and every middleman service is supposed to disclose this information, I don’t see why sending a message like this helps.

Cheers!

Has anyone kept their eyes on the Poncho Wearing Eevee sales recently? I have felt that these were underpriced for some time, but seeing them jump so high in such a short period of time is shocking. :rocket: :full_moon:

(Disclosure: I own a sequential set in the old CGC labels :smiling_face_with_tear: )

They did this before they were even an official middleman service. The amount of times I’ve sold to buyee and always receive this message I think it’s automated. Really didn’t like it, there’s absolutely no reason why it should be an issue.

Crazy! Last time i checked, they were hovering around 200-300usd apiece. Was monitoring the sylveon in particular, as i realized too late that my sets dont actually have the sylveon. For the longest time i thought the set ended with leafeon and glaceon only.
