With how crazy Japanese cards are right now, I have given some serious thought on putting a pause on Japanese for the SV era. Nothing decided yet, but this is getting priced out for me

The second I get in a position to finally pull the trigger on a Japanese card I’ve been after, it has already gone up 80%. Feels bad, man.

Can’t keep up with the nonstop JP pumping of everything.

I actually did the reverse - the recent hype seems to be focused on SM era and SWSH era cards which are unlikely to get reprints, and SV sets which are still in production had their prices stabled or even falling in the past 2 months.

My guess is that after TPC announces Clay Burst made-to-orders, flippers starting to realize that TPC can limit their profits through supplies and decides to shift to out-of-rotation stuff, but either way it’s a chance for me to grab what I’m looking for in the SV era, so I recently did plenty of purchase to start my SV collection. Still maintaining a SM era wish list but based on current market I’m treating them more as bygones.

actually, JP stuff is not pumped enough. If you been to japan recently. It is the most popular right now than ever before. Since the pandemic restrictions have been lifted. So many countries are in Japan going crazy and collecting JP pokemon is GROWING. Hard to believe, But i had to realize my denial of ultra modern pokemon and start buying ultra modern. Denial is a BIACHI.

Probably boosted by the latest Japanese Eevee promos.

All Lillie cards are being pumped. It feels completely unsustainable.

There are so many awesome cards for $5-$10 right now. The concern for my collection is the big hitters are pushing $1,000 which is hard to justify when the English copy is $50-$100

Which sucks for me because I prefer the Japanese version. Apparently lots of other people do too.

Slowly dipping into the $150 ish range for all the yu nagaba eevees, might consider grabbing those soon.

The massive fomo gotta buy now frenzy we saw a couple of days ago has cooled off for the set. With Pokémon Center Japan fulfilling promo shipments over the next 3 weeks, supply should be plentiful to bring the price down a bit. I am still hopeful this is sub $100. At that price, sellers are still making a couple bucks and all the free merchandise that came with it.

wonder when itll end, or at least calm down a bit. (may after worlds?)

I wouldn’t be surprised if it all crashed next week, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is the new normal.
