Agreed, this card has that “wow, that’s a really cool looking card” appeal to non pokemon people. Which i think is also an X factor to consider.
I’ve been seeing the Town on No Map Psyduck sell for 10-30,000 yen raw, and up to 60,000 yen graded.
…isn’t this a common? Why is it selling for so much?
Hex maniac is almost 7000 in a 10. That’s legitimately the only relevant reason why it spiked.
I think some of the e2-e5 commons and uncommons are harder to find in mint, PSA 10 condition than you would think compared to the e1 cards. Didn’t the Japanese eSeries sets also have only 5 cards per pack?
Anyone else have trouble placing an order from Toretoku? Everytime I copy and paste and item to Zenmarket it disappears from stock.
Yet they’re commons
Ever since Andrew (card secret) auctioned the 10s for pumped up prices, they stayed that way while the raws have caught up
True…but somehow, other commons from those sets aren’t as much. I wonder why it’s specifically the Psyduck.
The art is super cute and Psyduck is popular!
It seems there are some really crazy PSA 10 Psyduck collectors out there, heavily competing with each other.
Look at this JPN TRR Psyduck currently at $510 USD with two days to go. Insanity. But they’re obviously free to spend their money as they wish.
The Legendary collection Reverse Holo Psyduck is also one of the more expensive ones I believe. Don’t know if there are any other good examples tho.
Pumped up prices and card secret… who would have thought it!
So that Psyduck sold for $1691 usd. Thoughts?
Looks like PCJ is doing Clay Burst boxes made-to-order, and from what I could gather from the email it looks like there will be a “virtual waiting room” May 11, 2023 (Thursday) 15:00 to May 16 (Tuesday) 15:00 (2 AM - 3 AM EST in the US) for placing these orders. If you want a box at retail, this looks like your best chance to get one.
I also like this little bit on the order page:
・If the purpose of resale is discovered, future use will be restricted according to the terms of use.
Hmm… i translated this email and kinda got the impression that this was a lottery
Those who enter the room during this time will be guided to the site in the order of lottery after 15:00, so even if you access early, the order will not be affected.
Like its made to order but you have to enter a waiting room and be randomly selected by lottery to place an order? Idk, confused
It’s not a lottery but rather made to order (本商品は、受注商品です).
They also stress that it’s not a first come first serve system (先着順での販売ではございません) - they intend to distribute one box to everyone who applies.
Basically apply for one at any point during the registration period and you will get a box.
The lottery part is a random draw for who gets their box when (多くのお客様にご注文いただいた場合、お届け時期を抽選で決定いたします).
There are 3 dispatch times; early August, late August, and early October.
Well that’s great, thanks for clearing it up for me! Interpreting Google translated Japanese is difficult, especially when I am not super familiar with the vocabulary
That card was always going to go higher and I still think it will keep going.
It seems kinda odd to me that so many illustrators have been selling. I dont know if its the same few copies that keep cycling around, but if one had illustrator money, why not hold it? It just seems kinda pointless to buy a card like this, just to flip it a few months/ years later; especially if the owner is presumably wealthy. Not that its my position to judge, just kinda confused. Maybe its sports dudes buying into the hype and then realizing they dont really give a damn about pokemon
Am i missing something ? 6.5 million for extra battle day Lillie? Theres a raw trophy kang for that price on a JP card site i frequent. '99 tropical wind or full art lillie from sun and moon battle boost? What the actual fuck is going on here
