日本のマーケット部分 The Giant Japanese Market Thread

I think it’s fine, but very over-saturated. Every shop has twenty boxes of it just sitting on their shelves but absolutely nothing else lol. I don’t think we needed more Family decks.

I purchased 3-sets on October 18th for almost half of what they go for now, and they supposedly shipped, but I haven’t received tracking. Seller claims that I didn’t upgrade the shipping service, yet I’ve ordered items in the past, and items afterwards that were lower in $ from same seller and was given tracking. Some of those items have been received, but not the stamp promos :slightly_frowning_face:. We’ll see if they actually arrive.

Even still, I’ve recently ordered a few sets in the $170-$180 range just in case they climb higher, and it’s a better value than what they were pre-order months ago at around $350. This is one of the most exciting and cool releases that I’ve been around to experience IMO. Hope you find some at a value you’re comfortable with.

Cheers.

Agreed, especially when every regular in this thread wants a hundred each.

Does this JP Jungle pack look fake? The wrapper feels real and the seales look good but the pack art is blurry, you can see Rhydon’s eye on bottom is blue from overlapping print passes.

At first glance, it looks legit to me. Just a printing issue.

Do you have a picture of the back?

These were my thoughts, i will still keep on waiting but paying $200 + for those of promos seems lunatic to me.

If they keep on climbing then i guess i’ll miss these out.

If you want one pair only for the collection, I think even if they’ll drop 50% soon you’ll be fine in a couple years. Buy now, don’t worry anymore. But then again, I wouldn’t fomo since like people said, the availability doesn’t match the intended/announced distribution and anecdotal stuff like Japan’s population etc. isn’t very meaningful imo. Fomo very much accelerated the price already, be cautious.

Oh yeah, i just want a pair for me. Not a fan of buying multiple copies. I was about to pay $100 for both some weeks ago which seemed like a good price.

When not calibrated to projected masses of people, the 100.000 distribution number becomes pretty anecdotal as well.

Looks fine to me. The blurriness is quite normal, especially on Jungle and Fossil packs.

Be wary of this seller. They’ve used photos from other sold listings. I may have learned this the hard way, we’ll see.

Three feedback ratings and a bunch of high value items. A risky bet for sure. I just bought a 20,000 yen item from a 100+ feedback seller with a 100% rating. I’ll be sweating till that thing is in my hands lol.

This is more of a curiosity than anything else, and probably won’t come as much of a surprise, but …

I just confirmed with my own eyes that the Japan Post stamps have different holofoil patterns from one sheet to the next.

My goodness, these are exquisite. I don’t think I’ve seen a nicer non-card TCG-related item since the Legendary Birds phone-debit cards. The way Japan Post worked the postage value and name of the country into the design is brilliant.

My favourite non-TCG products so far are the Mario Pikachu and Pokémon hanafuda cards. I have no idea why I walked into the Pokémon Center, passed on the Mario and Luigi boxes and walked out with just the hanafuda cards and a tin but that is what I did LOL. Guess I never expected the cards to blow up like they did otherwise I would have bought ten of the damn things. It’s not like there weren’t 20 boxes just sitting there. Anyway, I love the crossover hanafuda cards Nintendo very occasionally makes.

I also recently picked up the babanuki card deck which I think is a bit of sleeper product.

The VS box was an absolute steal if its legit. I was going to put in a bid but forgot to set alerts for it and forgot. No idea what your max was though saying that.

I was a bit hasty and I didn’t give it enough thought before I bid tbh. There was a 0 feedback seller who recently sold a bunch of PCG boxes that turned out ok. I knew it was a risk.

It was the Team Rocket box I ‘won’. The other auctions were after that and I was already having doubts, I definitely recognised the Jungle and VS FW pictures from previous listings. The Jungle one had already been reused by another potential scammer just a few posts ago in this thread.

As the auction was ending I got outbid, only for that bid to be cancelled. So shilling to find my max, or the seller deleting bids from domestic accounts looking for proxy accounts.

To be fair, the three buyers of their previous listings seem legitimate and left positive feedback. Not Pokémon cards however. Hope you get your stuff.

That’s my little ray of hope.

Had a look around Akihabara today. There’s a University Magikarp sitting in 晴れる屋 right now. Didn’t think I would ever see one in person. 2,600,000 yen ungraded.:face_with_spiral_eyes:

I know will never happen but hypothetically if The Pokemon Company launch a grading company will you grade your cards to them or PSA?
Same grading fees.
