The Giant English Market Thread

I just realized it sold for $2,025 in this WTF year of 2025. Fitting

Dosen’t make sense how a single stamp can boost value that much…

I feel attacked…

Doesn’t make sense how the different picture in the artbox and different name on the card can make all the difference

I bet this has become the sneaker bro super reach card of the nanosecond. Happen to love it, but I’ll keep me 8 for that price, also bet this gets paid but I hope I’m wrong

Paid.

Modern collectors definitely do not abide by the ‘buy the card and not the grade’ mantra since, if I recall…this Double Crisis 10 had some pretty PSA 8 worthy whitening/wear on the back, lol. I love all my 2 certs and certainly the majority of them deserve the PSA 10 they got (not to dive into the cert wars since I never have and don’t make purchasing/collecting decisions off cert numbers) but this card in particular doesn’t help the cause, especially with that egregious off-centering staring you right in the face lol.

I guess when you see how people at conventions handle slabs these days (tossing them around like Euro-style poker plaques in Casino Royale) it makes sense…people are putting in almost no time truly inspecting graded cards at shows in contrast to, ironically…looking at raw binder cards lol. Obviously we should be able to trust the grade of the card we buy or the system falls apart but less people seem to believe in the ‘weaker/stronger’ scale these days and it shows. I suppose this card being super low pop justifies it somewhat since the person that coughed up $9k for it certainly thinks so lol.
