So this auction just ended at 5200 for a PSA 10 1st Ed Mewtwo. I’m glad I picked up the higher end Mewtwos already… well besides the PSA 10 Gold Star and SSB haha
@cinnaminhbun I was just talking to someone about that. I’d put the zard closer to $5k based on the prices history, blastoise prices, their price relationship over time, the trio sale price etc. I’m willing to bet the $9k sale doesn’t get paid for but you never know I guess lol especially with low pop cards (base 2 zard is pop 50)
Fun fact: of the 1,160,840 Pokémon cards PSA has graded, only 74 have come back with a grade 1.5. One of those 74 also has a qualifier - Golem from Skyridge.
PSA’s pop report figures do not differentiate between a PSA 2 and a PSA 2.5 when it comes to qualifiers - I don’t know if they even offer qualifiers on half grades other than 1.5. However here is the full breakdown as of 12PM UTC yesterday:
grade refers to a full grade (there are 40,487 PSA 7s which are neither PSA 7.5 nor PSA 7 with a qualifier);
half refers to a half grade (there are 11 PSA 2.5 grades);
qualifier refers to a qualifier grade (there are 347 PSA 8s with qualifiers).
That is to say there are in total 1,150,028 full grades, 8,421 half grades and 2,391 qualifier grades (totalling to 1,160,840 overall Pokémon-related entries in PSA’s system).
PSA 1.5 is an exception in that PSA distinguishes those from PSA 1 grades. If that doesn’t make much sense, here is a screenshot from a generic pop report page:
I can go further and reveal that of the PSA 2 grades specifically, those which are half grades (PSA 2.5) are:
