The Giant Deal Thread

@zap2, Sealed product has objectively increased. There isn’t any misinterpretation. Even if some of the sales include non-paying buyers, boxes have increased overall more than any other consistently available product.

I personally don’t have a dog in the fight. If anything I would prefer prices to decrease so I can buy more. That simply isn’t a reality right now.

I said sealed has had growth in my post. Where did I disagree? The point was to warn a potential buyer about the hype that gets created with false sales so they don’t make decisions based on inflated figures. While there weren’t any specific posts here I was directly responding to, hence the lack of a quote, I’ve already seen or had conversations where people seem to have the fear of missing out mentality and they’ll reference the highest sold price which in this case never happened.

I was just responding to this point. An unpaid sale(s) in the context of vintage sealed product is negligible. Bubbles occur when there is a significant unexamined core variable. Chinese Legend Maker is probably the best example, staying consistent with sealed product. People thought Chinese Legend Maker boxes were super scarce, but a few people knew they could order it from a distributor. Therefore the perception of a core variable was wrong, hence creating a bubble. Similar to Birthday Pikachu. Something like a unpaid item sale is a partial instance, not a core variable.

Even worse case scenario for sealed product like raffles, social media hype, pile it on, it is still negligible. I personally agree there is a ton of hype around sealed product, but there isn’t enough available supply to negate the hype. I agree that if most sales are inorganic that is a problem, but its usually temporary. Markets will naturally and quickly self correct. They self correct bubbles as well, but take longer.

And another 1st Ed Jungle box piercing 3k. This one with a mis-labeled title:

I messaged that seller as soon as it came up and they wanted 3k for it but I decided not to. Im just not convinced yet that these boxes are going to maintain these current prices. But I could be wrong.

All this tells me is I should look into selling if the market stays dry, and if I want to buy one, I better wait for a new stabilized price.

I was looking at cards between the $6000-$10000 range and this was a sold listing I found. Can anybody confirm if this was real?

Possibly the rarest booster box,

Japanese World Champions Pack (Ex Power Keepers with super limited release)

page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m348598459

Does anyone know how many packs are in this booster box, or the pull rates?

I’m guessing its probably 10 boxes (packs) within the cause, due to the size of both the packs and the box.

Similar to the VS series, where the packs were so big, they were limited to 10 a booster box.

^^^ didn’t the last one sell for around $130k ? Don’t quote me could be way off but that number rings a bell

I’d say this is the best opportunity since the PSA 5 from PWCC(Unless you want a minty copy). May the highest bidder win!

Skyridge box at $14k. Is this surprising or as expected?

I sold loose ones pretty quick not too long ago for $440. Truly unweighed I bet could be sold for $500 each zero problem. That’s $18k

Depends on who you ask. I’m surprised as hell, but I’m also wishing I had more sealed boxes right about now.

Curious if a user on here won this lot with the Unikarp. Would be interesting to know if there were any other hidden gems, and what that card will grade.
