The Giant Deal Thread

I wouldn’t personally say any ‘hyper rare’ set card can be considered a “holy grail”. It’s only desirable because it’s a Charizard.
We can make a rough guesstimate on print numbers by using figures assumed in this thread (“164 million cards for each and every set”) and run with I think TCA’s estimate of one Hyper Rare Charizard for every ~980 or so packs opened (let’s go with 1,000 because I can’t find his post), we can make a guesstimate that:

  1. 16.4 million booster packs exist (164 million cards in total divided by 10 cards per pack);
  2. 16,400 Hyper Rare Charizard cards exist (16.4 million packs divided by 1000 required to get one).

I don’t think any card with 10,000+ copies can be considered a “holy grail”, let alone compared with cards like the Masked Royal which to my knowledge only has 300 copies.

Of course, that’s just a guesstimate, but you’d have to significantly change the values to get anywhere near the print number for Masked Royal.
