0% fees if you choose to be paid via FanCash for BIN or auctions. FanCash does have strings attached, so I donât think you should value it as a 100% of a dollar - canât withdraw it and some things to watch out for around expiration:
I think this is a really interesting move though. I wonder what other platforms will do. This also reduces the benefit a bit of selling via consignment on Fanatics (if you donât need the cash and plan to buy more) - maybe not a huge impact, but there are already few smaller cards I would have consigned that Iâm thinking I may just list myself now.

Their finance team is gonna have so much paper work to do. Hopefully theyâve built good AI systems to make it fact check/port things over but I can see how this can get messy really quickly especially with if you consider sales with FanCash revenue or not

This is very interesting, thanks for posting. I wonder if, for an auction sale where you select to be paid in Fan cash, if you getting 100% means that that also includes the buyerâs premium, so the total amount not just the hammer price (?)

The average seller gets a few % more to allow FanaticsCollect to keep their funds circulating into new purchases. Those new purchases have a higher likelihood of reaching new records because a greater proportion of the amount paid is covered by FanCash, which canât be sent or spent anywhere else.
The marketing psychology behind it all is pretty fascinating: earn more from sales, use those higher earnings to buy bigger/better collectibles, sell and repeat the cycle. Revenue lost on the hammer price will be made back and more from buyers choosing increasingly larger purchases, if I had to guess.
Personally, Iâd rather lose a small proportion from the boomer premium to have full control over my money. The exception may be selling high-end cards where you have already identified the next purchase on platform.
Overall, I think this will go over well for FanaticsCollect. High-end collectors (who they care about and cater to the most) will benefit the most from it.

Altâs recent auctions seem to be from a single consignment/collection and usually arenât the norm. On average I would say Fanatics has more high-end stuff.

How does getting paid in FanCash affect capital gains taxes for sellers?
It wouldnât make a difference. Sales still go towards 1099. Now earning funds as fan cash then spending fan cash should be a 1 for 1 write off

Good point, so this is why I wondered how, for auctions, payout in fan cash amount differs from regular to account funds. For instance, for simple math purposes, if hammer sold price of an auction item is 10 dollars, and that would make it 12 dollars including the buyer premium, how much in fan cash would seller get? (Things to consider, there is some fine print in the old tables for fanatics for fee structure that states they get minimum of 3 dollars for each sale but this confuses me as it seems to me to contradict the â100%â+ percentages in the table)
apparently its the full thing so the â100%â in this case is actually 120% they are giving u idk⌠so if u sell less than u buy on their i guess u can just use the fancredits
