I was just looking at some cards, and seems a lot of cards sold for well under last sold in this weekends Fanatics Auction.. From Mario Pikachu, to Ascended Gengar.. All a good 5-10% below.. Very strange.
Maybe Summer isn’t a great time to Auction cards, or its more of a Fanatics thing.. Had a dry week.

You know we’ve been in a crazy market for far too long when price shifts of 5% - 10% (which are normal during any other conditions) start causing panic.
Tough to say if it’s just Fanatics, the prices on a bunch of things I’ve been keeping an eye on have been fluctuating quite a bit recently.
But was very happy to pick up something in this last auction I’d been eyeing for roughly 75% of the eBay last sold price.

In normal times this is the standard auction vs buy it now differential. I wouldn’t put anything into those numbers
yeah Id say its a fairly strong set of auction sales if they only drop that much when auctioned 3 at the same time on a comparatively niche site for a set thats in print with perfect QA

Everything that I watched went for what I expected or higher. Maybe what you’re watching is influencing your perspective of the market.
Don’t send your cards to fanatics (unless you want to set record prices)
there used to be a time longgggg ago (like early this year) when all fanatics auctions would end up 5-10% lower than a psa vault/probstein/ZandG auction. its been increasingly rare to find good deals on fanatics weeklies. for the last 3-4 months i’d watchlist a few items on monday, check on sunday, see that they’re going for record highs, unwatch and go on with my day.
