Very informative thread! Thank you guys for dropping knowledge!
Same thing here, even provided proof in the report!
Omg what a wild ride. Good job @wisewailmer!
Real great detective work @wisewailmer . Learnt a lot from this thread. Thank you very much for your knowledge and insight.
Cheers!
I sold my TRR boosterbox last summer for 44K (euro), what would be around 50k in USA dollars at this moment.
Congrats! That’s probably the record then! Might be some time before we see 50k in a public auction - although I’m confident we will at some stage in the not too distant future
The reason I get high prices on my boxes is simply provenance and already being in Europe.
Not having to pay 20-25% import taxes makes a big difference. And above a certain amount I deliver in person.
I don’t flip, I only sell what has been in my collection for years.
They also have this German 1st ed base booster box up on eBay and it seems to have a digitally written sticky note like the trr one. Even looks to me like the ‘24’ in ‘2024’ on this one is in a different color?
I am 99% sure that the post-it note was made in Paint.
That’s actually pretty impressive. This seller might make more money creating art than trying to scam EX-era box buyers.
yea @pfm alluded to it being digitally written in post #24. ballsy move by this guy trying to sell this
Yep, I mean that the post-it note was created digitally too, not just the signature.
