The final sets of Scarlet & Violet era will be a callback to the original Black & White era (2010-2012) with a 151-style focus on Unova’s 156 Pokémon
It will feature the return of main set artist evolution lines but no connecting AR/SAR
There are 100+ new artists since 151, so it’s possible more of them are involved in this set
BW era line holos are back
Can speculate that SV era holos are actually BW era holos without horizontal lines
All 156 Unova Pokémon will have an AR or SAR
Both sets combined will be the SV10.5 special set for TPCi

“Black Bolt & White Flare” Deck Building Campaign at Home!
From Saturday, June 14 to Sunday, August 31, 2025, we will hold the “Black Bolt White Flare” Deck Building Campaign at Home! Please tell me what you played with your family and friends in the “Black Bolt White Flare” deck construction battle!
From among those who applied, a total of 2,000 people will receive a promotional card “Victini” by lottery
Making me (and @nintenbox0731 ) wonder if this is really the “High Class Pack set” of Scarlet & Violet. 156 AR/SAR Pokémon across 2 sets is completely unheard of, even in TCG Pocket
Sun & Moon’s final year focused on gen 1 (Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee)
Sword & Shield’s final year focused on gen 4 (Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Legends: Arceus)
Scarlet & Violet’s entire game, DLC, tcg and lore structure was set up for gen 5 (Ancient/Future Paradox, Kitakami / Indigo Disk)
Mega era to bring back gen 6
I’m so excited for this set! Hopefully the pull rates are really good otherwise it will get crazy expensive (if it doesn’t anyway). Also is there any difference in the Victini AR promo and set version apart from the number?
As far as I’m aware, they’re visually identical. TPC has been gradually nerfing the appeal of JP promos in favour of sets over the past few years but that’s a whole other topic
Thank you - will be really interesting to see because even with 4 ARs it would be crazy to pull around probably 60-70 ARs per set (I just guess we will see approx 10-20 SARs per set then).
As someone who chases the art more than the value or the species this set is incredible.
The Snivy line got the royal combo special treatment by Jiro Sasumo and Ryota Murayama who are my 3rd and 8th favorite artists in the entire TCG respectively (I have a top 8 )
This feels like it combined VSTAR Universe and Vmax Climax in the sheer number of ar/sar cards it delivers.
I’m happy that it does not seem like the ARs and SARs will have lines done by the same artist. I want that variety!
Looks like they leave the entire line by 1 artist to the normal cards which I’m good with.
I’m hoping (although know it will not likely happen) for AT LEAST 5 ARs per box.
Gen 5 has 35 Stage 2 Pokemon and 10 legendaries (Victini got an AR so unless he doubles up) we got 9 legendaries remaining.
Those are the 44 candidates I’m thinking will get the SAR treatment, although that number will probably be lower.
Can’t wait to see the art trickle in
Plus with the Tera hats gone the artists have more room to do complete illustrations and really showcase different scenarios and backgrounds in their style.
Most of the Tera alts having just a fancy abstract pattern bugged me because it really limited what the artists could deliver (the exceptions being the Hydreigon (2nd best) and Alolan Exeggutor (best by a big margin) SAR Tera cards which had actual backgrounds!
My dream is we get some premium/special/deluxe collection boxes full of curated ars and maybe even some SARs in English (and with gorgeous packaging that matches the level of the Vmax Eeveeloution premium collections because that was peak product design and TPCi needs to get back to that level)
Even though I really only like the design of 15 Pokemon in this gen, the amount of art it will have has me over the moon and just for that this really is the clear SV set of all time winner in my eyes.
My one gripe with this set is that they split it in two which meant they couldn’t have Pokémon in Pokédex order. That would have made this the perfect set in my eyes. But to be fair 156 AR/SAR kind of just blows that out of the water for me
As much as I’d like to see Bandai-esque sequentialisation in a modern set, it’s arranged for even distribution of Pokémon by type, probably appeal, and much easier pull rate. 1 pack type for 156 AR/SAR doesn’t sound fun at all even with upgraded pullrates It’s all rearrangeable nonetheless
This is too crazy, I won’t be over it for a long time. You’d need a 312 pocket binder to fill the whole dex in regular card art and special art form.
This will surely be the most expensive set to complete
