I’m finding that a lot of hyper rares from sun moon have some weird sort of speckling in randmon parts of the card.
It’s very strange, would you consider this as damage and therefore an inferior copy of the card? It appears to be quite common, i wonder how badly this could affect a psa grade?
Here are some images of a pack fresh espeon with the weird speckles (affect card from have a smooth finish over the whole of it).
I think this is somewhat normal for English cards and texturing. Could be wrong though.
I have a couple full arts like this. Not sure I’d call it “damage” but it is definitely undesirable. No idea what PSA thinks of it.
@ozenigma @chinameowthsunflower Thanks for your input guys. Yes i feel it is somewhat normal however a flaw. Just like factory print lines are pretty normal on WOTC holos.
I’ve got a few PSA10 SM1 hypers and none of them have this flaw so potentially PS would not give 10s with cards that have this attribute.
It’s worth sending it to find out. Worst case it gets a 9 imo.
All of mine have that, I thought it was normal lol GX quality was horrible in SM. Thankfully GR is close to flawless.
Yes the prevalence of speckling on the hyper rares is very common. As for GM, centering appears to be quite an issue…
Every single GX I have from SM is off center.
While every one I have from GR is perfect, the whole card looks so good actually, like Japanese quality!
Interesting. My friend opened 18 boxes and of all the hyper rares and full art cards only 2 are on centre.
