What was the card? Does his kid have good taste?

“Pushed the button.”

Even though they technically have to push two “buttons” (at least) to actually make a purchase. lol.

@risingtrout, It was an Ultra Shiny GX Box

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: This thread is gold!!

I’m assuming most of these people are the people bidding crazy amounts for an item than never pay? or does it happen with smaller amounts as well?

Medical bills are incredibly common though, I think the thing is that eBay buyers only seem to have enough money to buy either pokemon cards or medical bills and never both.

Back in the 1990s, when my full-time job was selling sealed boxes of Pokemon-cards from Japan, I received an order from a customer in Florida for three boxes of Fossil.

A month or so later, I received the credit card chargeback notice. I contacted the cardholder by phone, and she told me that her kid placed the order without her permission. When she confronted him about the credit card charge, he confessed and showed her the Fossil boxes that he had hidden underneath his bed.

“Good news, though!” she assured me. Her son hadn’t opened the boxes, and she would send them back to me.

A couple of weeks later, the package arrived in the mail. ONE booster box, opened and filled with a loose assortment of beat-up cards.

In my line of work I hear “let me ask my wife and get back to you” We translate this as “you are not buying anything”. Mind you this is after multiple emails back and forth, negotiating and coming an agreed upon price. ugh…

Love it when people say “I would never buy it for this price” after trying to blame their kids for accidentally buying/bidding on your item.

Asshole.

If they pay, don’t cancel the order. Ship it out normal and then force them to make the return. When they return the item (50/50 shot they actually will), just hit them with a 40% restocking fee penalty. Then they will get pissed and open a case with ebay, which ebay will resolve in their favor but won’t penalize you. Then enjoy 40% and your item, while forcing ebay to deal with the consequences of their shitty marketplace policies. Or you could be real mean and hit them with a 70% restocking fee…

Is implementing a restocking fee allowed on eBay? Also if eBay resolve the case in their favour how would you keep 40%? Don’t eBay deduct the full item price from your account automatically?
