smpratte's Collection

That is correct. Actually only two copies have been changing hands (Scotts and Smasons). You can tell their holo patterns apart. As for the graded one, it has not changed hands openly and the fourth is still unaccounted for. You can always could a fifth as Its a safe bet PCL has one too.

Yeah but PCL ain’t selling :stuck_out_tongue:

Guys I hope Cally doesn’t have to come in here and point out that she’s pretty good with Japanese :slightly_smiling_face: (although she’s lazy, she won’t translate the whole book :stuck_out_tongue:)

I really do need another bible, and stat. It’ll put my catalogue to rest, which although I want to maintain, just don’t have the time for it

I see three cards and the number 3 appears twice in text…(and one 20) does that mean there are only three?

Remember that a Mewtwo in the third Vending series (Green sheet) also was an illustration winner. Unless the Illustrator was only awarded to the series one (Blue sheet) winners, there are definitely four.

Hmmmm… but now that has made me wonder. Scott, can you ask Yamato that question specifically? (Did the Mewtwo get an Illustrator card or was it just the series one winners?)

Cally - how do you know PCL have an archive? Is this guesswork or do you actually know for sure?

I thought that the mewtwo was a 3rd place prize. I thought there was some text on the bottom that is not on the vending 3 version. Noticed how I said “thought” twice, I am not 100% on it but I remember hearing this awhile back.

Bottom of what

Explain yourself good sir

*mind blown*

I seriously didn’t realise there was text at the bottom of those cards! Stupid unpeeled sets :stuck_out_tongue:

They clearly need to have digital editions of their cards, but I’m not convinced of paper copies. I don’t think WotC have an archive, not even for M:TG - they needed to piece together the early sets themselves I believe.

Not convinced there is a real need for non-digital copies. But I need those digital versions soooooooooo bad :stuck_out_tongue:

LOL, I can’t think of any emergency which would require cards to be loaded instantly unless if Team Rocket decide to infiltrate PCL (or Creatures back in the day) ;D :stuck_out_tongue:

(Even in 1995 computers were more than capable of storing and producing HQ images. My rubbish computer might’ve taken ages to manipulate them but it was capable of viewing[.i] them. Besides, how did PCL/Creatures send cards to the printers? By PostScript/format that can be exchanged to PostScript without loss, just as they would now!)

holy moly that is one amazing collection and i’ve only looked at the first couple of pages! :stuck_out_tongue:

if you don’t mind me asking, where did you manage to get the spikey eared pichu cards for the drawing competition from? they’re amazing! i want! hehe

Hi hi hi!

Now that you’ve joined, there is a guide to how to buy cards directly from Japan (in the Insider’s Bureau), you can search on there in the hope more turn up (if that’s cryptic, PM me).

Oh, and Scott’s collection is rubbish, we decided it was just about good enough to let him in here :stuck_out_tongue: ;D

thanks dogma!

If you get the pre-re I might have to kill you :stuck_out_tongue:

lol if that pre falls into the hands of him then i think we all will have to kill him.

Whoa that’s quite harsh…I was thinking more along the lines of having him make a focred donation to my collection

Bah, no killing allowed!!

Oh it definitely exists  I have seen one in person!

didnt someone online show some scans of the card itself and the auction for it long ago lol.

It has never been listed on ebay, but it certainly exists.

Here is a great link to an article from the gym.

For eight in existence, the value of the card and horrid economic times the card should have come onto the market within the last 4 years. The only one I know of is will’s. What happened to his? Did he keep it?

David Persin has it. And there are thought to be 12 copies, at least that is what we were told by the same person who provided information on those new cards.
