I got a deal with someone who has got many minty never taken out of Toploader holo cards that he wants to sell to me. However I am a bit worried as he does not have them penny sleeved in the top loader that they might get scratch during shipping to Germany. Am I too paranoid or is it a legit concern?
Yes that is a very legit concern. Don’t buy unless a person is willing to penny sleeve them. Toploaders are a nightmare for scratching holos. They slip 'n slide and all that glorious dirt and debris will just smear all over and scratch. Also even the inside of the loader, if it isn’t new, will have abrasions that will also scratch. Penny sleeves are essentially mandatory for preserving condition.
