I’ve watched this exact video before. He’s great. I’m also a Radiohead fan.

What I like about this thread is how diverse everyone’s music taste is.

Anyway, here are two I recently added pretty high on my favorites list:

Content warning: Depictions of cannibalism

This is a track that’s getting really popular recently. “Pag-ibig ay Kanibalismo II”, or in English: “Love is Cannibalism II”, is a very solemn, short, desperate, alternative track by up-and-comers fitterkarma. I love the voice of the main vocalist; a very deep, almost tired-sounding strain. Very rare that we see these kinds of vocals in female musicians and I appreciate it everytime.

The lyrics translate to a very rough, violent yearning from the persona. The chorus goes:

Ibabalik kita nang buong-buo (I will come back to you whole)

Pangako ‘yun sa ‘yo (That’s a promise to you)

Sa ’yo lang ang puso ko (My heart is solely yours)

Kahit kainin mo (Even if you eat it)

At hahalik ka nang may lipstick na dugo (And I’ll kiss you with my blood lipstick)

Sa labi kong punong-puno (My mouth is full)

Ng panlasa ko sa ‘yo” (Of my taste for you)

If you take a listen to most OPM (Original Pilipino Music), many of their lyrics, despite the sound, reflect this kind of longing. “Pag-ibig ay Kanibalismo II” presents this very familiar feeling to its absolute extremes in an equally as familiar alternate ballad.

I’ll be seeing this band live in 2 weeks! Right after finals. Seems like a good unwinder after the incredibly stressful weeks to come.

Love it! You know it’s going to be good when they grow out the fingernails just to play.

Have you ever heard these guys?

here is a smattering for you

Since we are posting banger Halo music, I’ll share a track I like that is rather obscure. I love the piano riff on this track so much.

Love this infected mushroom track, kinda wish the opening part was just the whole song tbh.

What instruments does everyone play? I play drums and can’t get enough of extreme metal :sign_of_the_horns:

It takes like a decade of practicing to even start to approach.

I used to play guitar and have a keyboard to learn one day. I listened to a lot of heavy music when I still played long ago. Do you recognize any of these old bands: Saosin, Silverstein, Thrice, Circa Survive, Modest Mouse?

Those are all I can remember in that sort of genre. Would be fun to recover the old iTunes account and go through some of it again.

Kudos! Drums are insanely hard imo. I could never get the hang of them. I used to play guitar when I was younger, but it’s been over 10 years since I sold my guitars..

Metal was always the reason I played. It was lots of fun and challenging to learn. I was completely self-taught so it was pretty sloppy, but still great fun!

Here is an old video of me from 2011 recorded on a phone:
