Do I really see Allan Holdsworth a page back? On a Pokemon forum of all places? People here aren’t supposed to know about him, lol. Or maybe he’s finally starting to gain some traction after all these years.
Guess I will share some nice underrated fusion as well then. One of my all time favourites, a group called Prism from Japan. Sadly the guitarist and main song writer (Akira) died this year. Super underrated stuff in my books, easily in my top 5 fusion albums from the 70s/80s:

Haha, I don’t think there are many of us. Sadly, I missed an opportunity to see him live in Oslo some years before he passed.

All good stuff I’ll have to check out. I’m familiar with that Enigmatic Ocean album, it’s a really nice one. That whole group was really amazing for the time and introduced a lot of people to Allan’s early work it seems along with Bill Bruford and others. His work with the band UK was also really cool, all though apparently he himself wasn’t a fan of it.
One guy I definitely want to see live at some point as well is Andy Timmons. I really think his playing is pretty magical as well, with a real sense of melody which is what I hear in a lot of Allan’s work also:
