Does anyone have experience with selling with PWCC, and what would be the reasons to not sell with PWCC?
As far as I’ve researched they offer similar fees to Ebay + Paypal, get more visibility, and it looks like PWCC is taking the risks of returns, fraud, etc. instead of the seller. Is this all true?
As for the prices I’ve seen PWCC auctions on highly wanted items get even higher prices than via regular sellers, but for less wanted items it takes a hit on the price.
He did. I personally bought a few times from his collection and on my end, my experience was great. Some buyers are also willing to pay more when they auction items because they do have a good reputation.
My experience with them was great. The biggest downside to them is how long it takes to get paid. From when you send your items to the auction date it can be about 50-70 days. You don’t get paid 7 days after your auction ends but 7 days after the entire months auction block ends. If you are not in a rush then PWCC is perfect. About selling with them and the positives.
You get the best visibility there is for your cards. eBay allows everyone to bid if they have an account and it’s easy. A bigger auction house might be intimidating for the majority with less funds. The fees are the biggest concern I see and this is the truth about it and your payment.
They ONLY charge you 10-15% (smaller percentage for higher value items). On average, I was charged 13% cut for my auction. That is the same amount I would have received if I sold it myself. They likely have a deal with eBay so they get lower fees for providing such high exposure and the amount of money they bring in. When I got paid I got paid via PayPal friends and family. I asked for it,but I’m sure that’s what they normally do some they are already getting charged the fees.
While it was bitter Sweet, it was also incredibly fun to see people bidding on your auction. I had a blast seeing the growth of my sales which are very easy to track on your profile. It has a very simplistic, yet detailed summary of your auction on your profile page.
Communication for me was a little difficult with the owner because I had a few difficult to understand questions. I wanted to split my auction up over several days but they only have one day each block for non sports. However, once my items were in the auction communication was much better.
About shill bidders. I was concerned about this but in the end it was fine. Out of 500+ items there were only 2 non payment. (Yes they were from IG haha).
Question about that. I sent in some card to PWCC and I am very worried about shill bids as people commonly bid a card they have up just so when they sell it they can say “oh well this card sold for X on eBay”. How does PWCC handle that as far as payment goes?
There is no way to know for sure how much the fees cap for PWCC. Yes, it is cheaper, fee wise, to sell it yourself but you aren’t likely to get a premium and someone to hand it. I’d rather have someone else responsible for selling my stuff.
Ahh, i believe that the increase in the max cap in FVF is for private sellers in the USA only. The UK eBay site still states that the max FVF for private sellers for any one listing is £250. sellercentre.ebay.co.uk/private/what-fees-youll-pay
Hah I have thought about the opposite The UK Pokemon tcg market is still quite limited…whereas in the US you have far easier access (in terms of card shops, local dealers, private sellers, retail stores stocking etc…we can buy but the customs, fees, duties can and will eb crippling when tryign to get a god deal…or even market value)
@hisoka107 will PWCC be issuing you a 1099 for your sales? It seems they may have to since they paid over $600. This may or may not be of relevance to someone who would be selling over $600 worth of items, but stay under the 200 transaction AND $20,000 Paypal reporting threshold. With PWCC you really wouldn’t have too much for costs except for shipping to them and stuff which may make it easier than someone having to report profit/loss and business forms on their taxes. Though there are many advantages and write offs you can take advantage of if you do go the route of reporting profit/loss as a business on your taxes.
