I’ve ordered multiple cards from Japan here lately and can’t find anything about Japan Post being shut down. I bought a $400 card off this guy and he is asking me to send money outside of eBay for shipping cost? I’m sure this is against eBay TOS and it is super sketchy. What do you guys think of this?
If I’m not mistaken someone else on E4 also got a message like this to awhile back but I don’t remember who it was but yeah its pretty sketchy to be asking for more money afterwards.
I’m currently living in Japan, and just shipped out nine packages to the US using JP post on the 20th. Not sure how long get will take to get to the US, but they accepted the letters easy enough. They were envelopes and bubble mailers. Nothing bigger than a cd case sized mailer.
Packages, i.e. boxes, must go through EMS as far as I’ve heard and a friend of mine says that none of the ones he sent 10 weeks ago have even landed in the states yet.
About 2 weeks ago, I sent several packages and letters to the states and Canada, the Canada one arrived in 8 days. The US one not too much later.
That’s all the info I’ve got, hope it helps solve your problem.

I have no recent experience with packages coming in from Japan but at least single cards in tracked letters travel normally to Finland. Skip the $99 extra payment.
Last time I bought something from japan it arrived in a small letter via Japan post. It arrived in a few weeks. So they must be sending out letters. Well to Australia they are.
For parcels I have had cards get sent through DHL and I had one sent through Yamoto transport but they haven’t been as expensive to send out, Most parcels cost $30-60 AUD depending on size, weight and zone.
$99 USD I am guessing? If so that is a bit excessive for a parcel.
