The alt arts and secrets are beautiful. Pokémon continues to kill it with modern.

Goddamn, I’m about to spend so much money on that fireplace Flareon

Edit: All the SR’s look amazing, I love how dynamic the art style is. I totally feel immersed in the idea that the Eeveelutions are running around the world helping others.

Moon Umbreon is a future classic

Well regardless of the fact that most of the orders got cancelled i still cannot get hold of a box as msrp so it doesn’t make much difference haha. I’m going to wait and see if they print to cope with demand and bring prices down a bit but if not I’ll settle for an increased price.

Thanks much for the information.

As long as you leave one available for sale for me. That Flareon artwork is amazing. Definitely my favorite of the set! The Jolteon is a close second.

I also like all the alternate arts of both the regular and Gigantamex forms of the Eeveelutions.
Two that I hadn’t seen posted yet and I also really like:

@quuador, no problem my friend, I only want 2 copies (1 for grading and one for my binder)

Does anyone else just feel kind of…dejected? seeing beautiful spoilers knowing that this set is going to be nearly impossible to get ahold of at MSRP, or even at all?

Time is your friend.

Umbreon VMAX special art giving me Aquapolis Umbreon vibes. They’re going to have to print this set for the next decade to meet demand.

It seems like that sowsow alt. art Gengar VMAX is not given in those decks which I didn’t get initially. The bet seems to be that it will be in 1/6 or 1/8 decks which the current price on eBay also suggests. Absolutely not good for my wallet if that’s the case…

That Umbreon is exactly what I was speaking about! Such a great homage. In my mind these are the spiritual successors to the McDonalds and trainers magazine promos.

For singles, absolutely. I’d actually like to open some of this set though. While I won’t be paying resell prices, Japan are always pretty tight on reallocations. I can’t help but be worried that even with the acknowledged recent short supply of modern product, the demand is going to far outweigh supply. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

So basically you want to open a boxes but you don’t want to pay what a box is worth. Yes, you might have a hard time then.

Sounds like he wants to pay MSRP. What a wacko!

Does MSRP really apply to foreigners though? If someone is proactive enough sets like Shining Fates can still be found in western stores for MSRP. To be proactive for a Japanese set I’m at the whim of online retailers or booking a flight to Japan and trying my luck for restocks like I would in the US.

My point was that @snowbellecity is being perfectly reasonable in wanting to pay MSRP and is rightfully hesitant to pay $10+ for a pack of modern trading cards.

I don’t see the issue with wanting to pay retail price for a product on release lol

Yeah, it turns out that if you want the ridiculously popular foreign product with limited supply, you necessarily have to buy from a reseller. It also turns out that the reseller will probably sell to the person who wants the product just as much as you do but is willing to pay more.
I get it’s not ideal but that’s the reality of the situation. I too would like some to open at $40 a box but as of now I have zero boxes. As I mentioned earlier, time is on your side and I will probably get some when the demand cools and the supply is more available.
