It’s 2025 and gold stars are hot again. I wanted to rework my old thread where I reworked the sets that specific gold stars are in. Below are my thoughts and pics on what Nintendo should have done if they were wiser.

EX Ruby & Sapphire
The set to kick off gen 3 needs the starters! Don’t get me started on the ex selection ugh.
Sandstorm
One of the best ex sets in the art department, why shouldn’t it get some banger gold stars!? If they don’t give mega flygon the ability sand stream we riot.
Dragon
This one seems simple,but we have 2 dragon themed ex sets. They could probably all be swapped around.
Probably should have salamence here but I didn’t find a good custom picture of one
Emerald
Rayquaza needs to be here but any number of iconic hoenn mons would do. Also the final evo starters would be nice.
Unseen Forces
Throw the dogs in the trash because of their release stain, and give the people what they want.
Delta Species
This one struck me as a good spot for some metallic bois But we didn’t have much to go on so it’s open to interpretation
Holon Phantoms
This one needs some ghostly Pokemon. I didn’t find any good fan creations for Gengar, Banette and Dusclops but those are my picks
Crystal Guardians
Not a big fan of this set’s theme… Crystals???
I’m thinking Sableye and maybe Mawile? Idk and IDC… Next!
Dragon Frontiers
Time to dump the rest of the dragons. Depending on if altaria and salamence are used in prior sets they’d go here in place of Gyarados.
Power Keepers
I think people forget that the theme of Power Keepers is supposed to be the hoenn elite 4. So again this one seemed obvious to me.
To me some of these are just a shame because they make so much sense
