Quuador's Collection - Pikachu V-Union filler and XY Evo Square Cut

An amazing card just arrived! The Inverted WB error for the WotC #4 Pikachu promo:

(Excuse the dust… it’s in a sleeve, card-saver, and large toploader  )

Thanks again for selling it to me @fritz ! I was finally able to pick it up at my local post office. It traveled from the US to the capital Amsterdam of The Netherlands in about 2-2.5 weeks. And after that it took another 2-2.5 week before it was released from customs… :unamused: But, it’s in my possession now.

Although most probably already know, for the few beginning collectors among us a little insight: only a single sheet with 30 of each of the four WotC Promos (the others being Electabuzz, Mewtwo, and Dragonite) have been printed with this Inverted WB stamp. It’s therefore very hard to find, so I’m glad to be able to cross this off my list.

As for some other arrivals. One I already posted in another thread, but let’s post it here as well:

Both the front and back is in mint condition. There is only a very minor indent at the right border of the back. The eye appeal of this card is therefore perfect, but it would still grade a 7 or 8 most likely due that indent. So it will stay ungraded (in toploader) in my collection. Apart from a Common Litwick variation and some upcoming Japanese releases, my National Index collection is now complete.

Pictures and information of my entire National Index collection including all forms and Shiny Pokémon can be found here.

And one other arrival, or two actually:

Both the error and corrected Japanese Typhlosion. The error has damage number 60 at its attack, and the corrected version 60+. The corrected version (graded PSA-9 above) is much harder to find than the regular version.

All in all a great mail day.

Big congrats on that upside down Pikachu! Only 30 copies, crazy rare!

I’m curious, where did the knowledge come from that only one sheet of each was printed?

Tbh, I’m not 100% sure. Almost everyone who talks about these Inverted / Upside Down errors state only a single sheet with 121 cards is printed with it: 30 of each of the four promos, and an additional blank filler card. Given how few pop up I can kinda believe it, but if it turns out 60 of each (so two sheets) were printed instead, it also wouldn’t surprise me.

So no actual prove there are only 30, only heard it mentioned at loads of places. Like here on the forum (as well as here on the forum), in the description some eBay auctions of these errors (here another one), on Bulbapedia’s error page (although iIrc I’m the one who added that information halve a year ago, haha  )

But to quote something @churlocker said back in 2015:

So I guess we’ll never know how much there are truly printed. I personally think either 30 or 60, and at this point I’m leaning more towards 30 based on how many I’ve seen. But who knows…

Many congratulations on the inverted stamp!
Guess that was the card you mentioned was being shipped, haha

Yep I never understood the logic behind people mentioning the 30 number, but it’s a great card regardless

Ahhh I see, very interesting stuff! Maybe one day a WOTC employee or whoever it was that stamped these will come out with the solid story. But anyway, stellar card dude, congrats on it!

I honestly think it’s more than 30 each. Thousands upon thousands of these promos were printed so it would be a miracle if only 120 were misprinted and then even 1 popped up. Let alone 15 or so individual copies I’ve seen online. Even I’ve owned 3 myself just casually collecting.

I think the actual number out there is pretty low but I don’t believe it’s just 30 of each. Less than a thousand? sure. I’d bet on it. 120 or less? nah it’s gotta be more.

Edit: I don’t believe any employee of WOTC would have the real number. If they caught the error in time the cards would have been destroyed. Since the errors exist it’s safe to say the machine was probably misprinting them for a good amount of time before the misprint was caught. ofc I could be completely wrong. Maybe 1 dude slipped 1 sheet in the wrong way. I guess it’s all conjecture at this point and I don’t see it being anything more than that.

I’m glad someone else has said it as I have always questioned how people got the 1 sheet only number for these errors. If they was truly only 30 considering when they were given out it would be a miracle for any to still be around surely!

Ah well, whether the are 30 or 300 of them out there, they barely pop up (especially the Pikachu and Electabuzz), so I’m glad to have added it to my collection.

30 comes from the WOTC manager. Essentially there was a 121 sheet with one blank giving a total of 120 cards. All four WB cards were on the same sheet.

According to the production manager 4 sheets were stamped upside down making 120 of each, or 484 total cards with 4 blanks. 3 sheets were removed, one didn’t get caught. It’s very possible that either the cards that were removed got sold by employees after the fact, or that and additional sheet got sent out without anyone knowing.

Based on what we know 30 is the best estimate, if anyone chooses to believe differently they’re free to think what they want, but there’s no evidence otherwise.

Do you still have the MewTwo inverted stamp or did that get sold?

I still have that one as well indeed. But will probably sell it if someone offers me a good price.

Where did this information come from?

Here is a screenshot of the original email. I left a couple other controversial ones in there, but take if for you want. An email is not proof, just as close of a connection as I could find.

It finally arrived! About 2.5 months ago I bought it from @ssjc after I saw he posted it on Instagram, and after it was (luckily temporarily) lost in Paris for 2 months, the tracking code finally updated again two days ago. And here it is!

Very happy with the addition (and that it wasn’t lost after all…). Although I already had a BGS-10 with subs 10/10/9.5/10, it just isn’t the same as a Black Label 10/10/10/10. A very nice addition to my collection. And currently also POP-1:

Thanks again @ssjc !!

Order from Thailand has arrived, and I couldn’t be happier with the pulls. Finally got that pesky 038/140 Pikachu I was missing from the first random 60-card decks, and also pulled both Pikachus and the Seviper from the new set. And although I don’t really collect them anymore, I’m also very happy with the three Mimikyus. Oh, and the rest of the pulls weren’t too bad either, although no Hyper Rares and just one Secret Rare. That’s what I get for buying loose booster packs instead of a booster box.

Funny how you’re collecting Pikachu for 3.5+ years and still find new Pikachus every once in a while. Thanks a lot @chappo for linking me to the eBay seller!!

Except for the Japanese Sample prints, I now have all Neo Genesis Pikachu variations, since this Spanish 1st ed. was the last one missing.

Also, some No Rarities Japanese Base Set error cards have arrived:

Can you spot the difference between the Gastly cards (apart from the rarity symbol and quality of course…)?

Very nice no rarity cards! Seems like they are great additions to your already extensive collection.

My Indonesian Detective Pikachu has arrived:

Cool to see that the only Indonesian card thus far is a Pikachu. I did hear that the first Indonesian set will be releasing somewhere in August.

Also, ever since I saw them in one of @smpratte’s videos (this video), I had the Carddass Bandai set on my list to buy one day. I’m not much of a non-TCG guy, but the artworks of these cards are so unique and cool. I think I had one auction on eBay on my Watching list for a few weeks before I decided to pull the trigger and buy it, which arrived yesterday. Here pictures of the full set (including No. 000 and CARDDASS) in the spoiler tag:

Loads of pictures, don’t open the spoiler on your mobile with limited internet!!
