Question on variations of 2014 GYM MEDAL PROMO

Here is a question for the local Japanese Promos experts :blush:

For the life of me I cannot figure out the difference between these two variations of this medal promo from 2014:

The second one is marked as “Gym leader finals”, but I cannot see any difference from 1). I know the color looks different but I think its just an effect of light reflection.

I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me figure this out.
