QotD: All pokemon video games on the table, which is the one you have spent the most time playing?

Mistery Dungeon games’ story was peak as a kid. I remember crying at the ending of Sky.

One of the GBA games, probably Emerald.

Either Crystal, Fire Red, Platinum, Black or X. Not sure exactly which because play time records (until you get 3DS) maxed out before reaching 1000 hours.

I blame everything on Shiny hunting.

I think I’ve spent the most time on PTCGO, since I was very into trading and casual playing many years back (and had much more free time). I’m guessing second and third place are probably Blue and Snap 64—not sure which comes first though.

As a kid, it was the Crystal version. I was completely attached to my little blue Game Boy SP and spent countless hours with it.
Now that I’m grown, it’s Pokémon GO. I’ve been playing since the beta, and, apart from a few short breaks, it’s been a constant part of my life ever since.

Alpha Sapphire! I used to wonder trade Tallows.

If pokemon go counts it’s that one easily with over 10000 hour margin, but if it doesn’t i’m ashamed to say it’s this one

“Go, Poliwrath!” … I remember spending an insane amount of hours trying to speedrun it … Ironically, the game has a duration of less than 20 seconds  … but achieving the World Record is insanely hard … In fact, the difference between me and the World Record is ridiculously small …

Pokémon Shuffle is a silly little game. But if someone needs a friend: DPVKLHJA

EDIT: Pokémon GO it is.

I’ve kept track of the total times played on most of my Pokémon saves, although unfortunately a few have gone missing or been restarted before I noted them down, but I think these answers are fairly accurate. If I add all the main series games from each particular generation together, Gen 3 stands out on top by a wide margin, with Gens 4 through 6 a distance behind.

  • Gen 1 – ~200 hours
  • Gen 2 – ~590 hours
  • Gen 3 – 1,191 hours (includes Colosseum/XD)
  • Gen 4 – 745 hours (excludes My Pokémon Ranch)
  • Gen 5 – 807 hours
  • Gen 6 – 817 hours
  • Gen 7 – 309 hours (includes Let’s Go)
  • Gen 8 – 334 hours
  • Gen 9 – 98 hours

I frequently used My Pokémon Ranch as a screensaver, so I’m leaving that one out.

According to my 3DS, alpha sapphire. But before that, probably hard to say. I spent a lot of time in diamond and gold. My gen 3 team sucked because they made tropius look awesome but suck stats wise. Very rude. I would probably say though its an even blend. Alpha sapphire was just because that was the easiest of the 3ds games to do pokemon breeding in while watching or listening to something else. Super afkable. I went for the living dex challenge in ultra sun/moon. Only for them to take it from me with the dexit scandal. But It was still a fun challenge. I have a save file backed up of ultra moon with the entire living dex.
