QotD: All pokemon video games on the table, which is the one you have spent the most time playing?

While I started with Red (92 baby) the game I put the most hours into was Sapphire. Was obsessed with completing everything in that game. Good times

Pokemon Silver for sure.

Pokemon Silver by far. Second is either Pearl or Soul Silver
Technically I did spend a decent amount of hours on Sword too because I was shiny hunting.

Crystal, and then gold and silver. The fact that kanto and johto are in that contributed alot, but it was a simpler time as a kid.

I would think Pokemon Sapphire first → Pokemon Blue/Yellow second → Pokemon Silver third.

Definitely XY. I played Pokemon Diamond as my first Pokemon game for myself (I did play friends copies of Red/Blue and Ruby/Sapphire) but I wanted to get the newest game at the time which was XY. I think I have over 600 hours in that game.

I’m not sure honestly, between soul silver, silver, red, and BW2.

It might just be BW2 because the post-game content is top notch!

As a kid, definitely Silver. I poured hundreds of hours into it easy. I had a gameshark when I was a kid, so I would do shiny cheats in Gold and transfer my favorites over to Silver. Gold was my “throwaway” instance, and I didn’t mind if that save got corrupted.

As a young adult, suprisingly, probably Moon. That was the game that got me back into Pokemon officially after a long hiatus. I was battling competitively and min/maxing IVs and EVs and all. So yeah, I was pretty dedicated for a while there.

As an adult with a kid, it has probably been Shining Pearl or Let’s Go Pikachu. I never played Diamond or Pearl as a kid, and the remake was unbelievably good imo. I’ve spent a ton of time digging things up in the Underground. The Let’s Go games are some of the most immersive Pokemon games I’ve experienced and ooze with nostalgia.

I’ve seen my fair share of maxed out ingame timers; 255:59 hours on Pokémon Blue and 999:59 hours on some of the more recent titles but none come close to Pokémon Shuffle.

Multiple Top 5 placements in the online competitions, all regular and event Pokémon maxed, S-ranks on all Main Stages and Expert Stages, 99 of every item, 99999 Coins banked, 99 Hearts banked and Survival Mode 2.0 on farm. The biggest timesink Pokémon title ever due to its real-time cooldown timers. IYKYK.

Here’s my top 4 in order:

  1. Pokémon Shuffle

  2. Pokémon Soul Silver

  3. Pokémon X

  4. Pokémon Card GB 1 & 2

Pokémon Shield for me. Going by my Switch stats.

Late comer to Pokémon in general is my explanation.

I might be under shooting that by 2-3x too. I can’t really be sure

I got stuck on Victory Road in Pokemon Blue as a kid for ages so it’s that for sure

I spent hours on this too since I didn’t get a GBA and Ruby until 2005-2006 lol I still have it somewhere.

Platinum still stands as my most played currently, it released at a time where I had a lot of free time, and where my interest in things like Pokeradar chaining and RNG manipulation was at its peak. To this day I keep a DS with Platinum in my night stand  (cute charm glitch set up of course!)
