" Changes to PSA’s scope of services for trading cards and tickets will be in effect on Friday, January 17. Here’s what to expect for as we look to further your PSA experience in the new year.
Trading Card Authentication & Grading
Pricing will increase for member-exclusive Bulk services and higher-end levels starting with Express, which feature Grader Notes and 5-day estimated turnaround times. Most changes reflect a return to pricing before our last update in February of 2024.
Unchanged by the update are many of PSA’s most utilized service levels: Value, Value Plus, and Regular."
Bulk TCG has had a “special” at $14 literally more often than not having a special in the past year, kind of crazy to then increase the price by $2 over the non special rate. I wonder if specials will continue to be $14 after this.
A bit sneaky announcing this with less than 24 hours until the pricing goes into effect (At least, first I’m hearing it feel free to correct me if this was announced earlier.)
Yeah that’s unfortunate. Getting kind of hard to justify sending stuff in at that bulk price. Also a slap in the face that its cheaper to send stuff in at gamestop even if I have a psa membership ($150 btw)
I was thinking the same. That GameStop price I’m assuming is a contracted price for “X” amount of months. Kind of a slap in the face to all collector club members. Especially with GameStop not requiring a minimum either.
Anecdotally I’ve also noticed that people seem to be getting quicker turnaround times with Gamestop than with regular bulk. So not only is it cheaper but it might also be faster. Seems like potentially there’s soon going to be no reason not to submit with Gamestop. Not surprising really considering Nat Turners appointment onto the gamestop board
This middleman files a 10-K. You can always see for yourself exactly how solvent they are. IF GME doesn’t raise their prices in response, I think that signals a very deep partnership between GME and PSA. GME becomes the path of least resistance to submit to PSA, and in turn, PSA starts to build a presence in retail. I think that’s super cool.
Zero problem giving PSA two extra dollars for the value they add.
